Very cool man , the original series was most excellent . Nice to see some nostalgic models . I had that model ... and the Cylon raider also .

gotta say, excellent ingenuity and work. makes me appreciate the work of jerry Andersons animatronics, xle, thunderbirds, captain scarlet, what they did with ole skool tech was outstanding.

Thanks for the complement. There is so much more that can be done now that was not possible in years past. Just having a wide range of LED sizes alone makes lighting more manageable.

WOW that is impressive, I remember building the original model in 1982 and would have been blown away to see something like this.

That’s beyond awesome! Just the amount of wiring is amazing! That you made a working display and added sound is fantastic! I concur with the group. If you don’t build sf model props for a living, you should!

Yeah, thought about getting another. Best deals so far on eBay are around $90-100. I was able to get a Mk-II and Mk-VII to complete the group. Future projects. I'm glad you enjoyed the build and I appreciate the compliments.

Super cool! I've seen detailed electronics mods before, but you took the miniaturization and detail to a whole other level. My first concern was "With this complexity, how's he going to service anything?" but then you showed a few spots to make it accessible. I think this is probably my favorite conversions that I've seen. Keep up the great work and I've subscribed so I can hopefully see more.

Wow, thanks. I really appreciate that. I bought this kit a few years ago and started on the display right away as a proof of concept. I was really happy with the result but it was another year and half before I started the full build. This kit has some great options too bad it is out of production. I do try to add some uniqueness to the builds and I have a few more planned in the BSG world.

I built a three ship element with the same detail but without the tech at the end of Galactica and before Galactica 1980. The tech did not exist, at least not for a teen affordable price. By the way f16s came on line 1976,officially the fighting falcon Galactica was 1978, They started calling them Vipers at that time. In 1995 when I did my Flight Surgeon ,Top Knife, training, I'm also a flight instructor, no one could tell me the origen of why f16s are called Vipers until I reminded them. This was before the second Galactica. Great Job

I always find it interesting where set designers get their ideas from. This was a fun kit and for sure there are so many more electronic options now than in the past. I think I'll be going back to a car model next then I have a F-14A tomcat to try out. Thank you for this history on the Vipers and I'm glad you enjoyed the video.

If it is just for the LED's, Light House LED has a nice table for 2v and 3v LED's that make it easy to select a resistor value. Here is an example, click on the quick selection guide. lighthouseleds.com/3mm-led-orange-ultra-bright-15-000-mcd.html
