I bought this on the last Steam sale and the reinforcement pack. I too think the WEGO turn based is much better for a player who wants to more manageable control of their fleet over what you get in Battlefleet Gothic, in which I stopped playing over 6 months ago.There are issues with the UI that makes some things tedious but this game captures the flavour of the BSG universe very well. I heartily recommend this game for purchase.

can you freely move in Z axis on this game (like in homeworld series)?

You can free move the camera should you wish

not talking about the camera but for the ships themselves, can they?

Yeah ships can move freely to including up and down, helpful to avoid collisions

This looks like a re-skin of Star Hammer : The Vanguard Prophecy. Are there any big changes in the gameplay mechanics? They seem very similar from the video.

The gameplay is basically Star Wars: Armada boardgame made into a video game.
