Saul Tigh is one of my favorite characters in television. When I saw the episode where he loses an eye, I shouted "OMG HE'S GONNA GET AN EYEPATCH" When he debuted the eyepatch, I vowed to name my firstborn son Saul. Saul just turned 12 years old LOL

This was my favorite part of the whole series.. Tigh: I'll tell you a dirty little secret. The toughest part of getting played is losing your dignity. Feeling like you are not worth the oxygen you are sucking down. You get used to it. You start to believe it. You start to love it. It's like a bottle that never runs dry, you can keep reaching for it over and over and over again... Adama: So how do you put that bottle away, Saul? Tigh: I don't know. One day, you just decide to... get up and walk out of your room.

The fact that Colonel Saul Tigh turned out to be one of the Final Five was one Hell of a Twist. Wonder if he was suspicious of the Machine Cylons even back in his old life? It would explain his hatred for them after what they did and him selling his role after becoming someone else.

After all he's been through, after all the suffering, Saul Tigh, maybe an asshole, still did the right thing and stood by Adama when he was needed, even willing to sacrifice himself. The man had the will of fucking iron, and was loyal above and beyond.

I also loved when he interrogated Tyrol in S2, and then when he protests and lists his service history, Saul just backhands him and then has the best response "Don't talk to me like you're a soldier! You are not a soldier!"

Tigh always stepped up to who he needed to be. Shrugged off alcoholism being a cylon and stranded on a planet. He never rose above it but was loyal to the last day and did all he needed to. Superb 2nd could fill in as captain not admiral.

The entire first moment was not his best at all. It was one of his horrible low points, where he was unable to see his duty over his own personal feelings. The best moment, without doubt, is his speech about being the man he wanted to be after discovering he was a Cylon. That moment should have been here instead.

I disagree completely. I have both my eyes, but I have a third degree burn scar that is 3 1/2 inches long on my left cheek. People stare, but they don't usually say anything. It is only after they have known me for a week or two that they ask about it. That is why I hate meeting new people, when they ask, it all comes back to me like it happened yesterday. If I were to come into contact with a man that was even tertiarily responsible for that injury, as Saul did in that scene, I would have expressed the same amount of rage, yet far less restraint. That character is a far stronger man than I am. I would have beaten him, and kept beating him... Saul is a far stronger man than I am. Please do not judge me too harshly for what I have said. If you have not experienced that kind of pain, can you cannot possibly understand how I feel.

I find it amazing how throughout 3 and a 1/2 seasons Colonel tigh was was the worst officer in fiction or non fiction... Yet somehow the Admiral calls him the best officer he has ever had. He couldn't run the ship for 12 minutes . He almost had a mutiny on his hands when he was watching the ship for the Admiral. He didn't know what to to. He made all the wrong decisions.. Absolutely the biggest hole in this entire series was the fact that he was a complete inept officer which would have been court martialed in real life but the Admiral calls him his best officer. What a joke.
