Surprised nobody noticed that the corpsemare stampede did actually get buffed. It rolls 6 die as opposed to 5. Might not be much. But against 1 wound models that averages 1 more dead guy and against 2 wound models that ups the odds of killing another model or weakening one. Pass him across 6 units and you get 6 more mortal chances as opposed to last edition.

I think youre overlooking the power in the heros that bring in a unit to fight afterwards in this book Rob, as it lets you power up the Feeding Frenzy before slapping with your big unit, all in one activation!

It's fun to hype this book and I think it is pretty good. It does have clear weaknesses though. 1. Very little mortal wound output - Terrorghiest is really it 2. Mostly rend 1 and some of that is conditional, tanky armies will just tank it. 3. Bad to hit rolls, a lot of attacks are on 4's, any minuses to hit (tzeentch, LRL, Slaanesh) will be tough 4. Heavy reliance on little heros - any army that can pick up the heros will have a great time vs. FEC (Seraphon) 5. I don't think it fits nicely in battle regiment - Heroic action and the lots of heroes pushes it up in drops - how good can it tank a double? It will be interesting to see where it lands in win rate and the most important stat, how fun is it to play and play against.

I just got so many list ideas, this book has opened the toolbox for FEC. Before it was buffing the ghoul king on terrorgheist to the max, smash him into the enemy and fight again with feeding frenzy. I feel this new book opens up so many different ways to play instead of being a one trick pony. Sure units lost some power but th utility the new units and prayers give is amazing

Im not sure if everyone else is missing this as well, but as I i read it, the Throne shuts off OBRs battle trait for ignoring battleshock tests. That's pretty huge and no one is talking about it.

Ushoran won't get a 4+ ward. The rule on Cryptguards is: "This unit has a ward of 5+. In addition, add 1 to ward rolls for friendly Flesh Eater Courts Heroes wholly within 3" of this unit." I think Ushoran's base size will prevent him from benefiting from this.

Great video - I had heard that Ushoran may have a 100mm (or more) base and that if so that would mean he couldn't get the ward save buff from crypt guard as his base is impossible to be wholly within 3"" (being nearly 4") would that be correct if his base is around that size? NVM just saw the bit where that's still in the air.

It is but it isn't. There's about a 99.9% chance he's 120x90 or 130mm . There's a 99.9999999999999999999% he's atleast 100mm And I'll tell you why, because even 80mm is over 3". And there's no way he's on a killaboss on gnashtoof size base. 105x70. There's just no way he's that small when you look at the pictures you can clearly see he's almost 5 X 25mm bases. That's a minimum of 125. So he's definitely on a 130mm.

@@markpandelidis2079 ah right cheers - It's an interesting one that - I can't think of to many units where it's the multi model unit that hands out the buff to the character, and the range is a bit small on it as well. I wonder if the intent was for them to mostly work with the smaller foot characters or something.

You can put him in the bubble and give him the ward save buff, you just have to wrap the entire base with the guard. Not impossible, but not probable because it would nerf his movement. But you'll see it done

I will love to combine crypt guard with varghulf. I want a full mad list with crypt guards as battleline and Ushoran for my general. Against Infantery my crypt guards dmg sponge, the varghulf does the dmg, and after that I look at the unhappy face of my enemy that cant auto pass the devastating battle shock. I really want to try a list where tons of enemys flee and giving commands at all are nearly impossible with cursed bones etc. Most ppl just spam big guys everytime like dragons and horrors, but I hope I can make this Madness Army work.

Also im a little confused, at the beginning section on generating deeds as a hero, can attacks technically be sequenced one at a time as to not confuse which are the mounts and which are not? Like being able to split attacks as opposed to combined attack as per 13.2 core rule?

Yes attacks are always rolled separately and damage is from source. So mounts damage can be assigned before the riders damage

How does things like the judge Gormaynes +1 damage effect the terrorghiest maw mortal wounds....does he do 7 mortal wounds if you roll a 6 to hit? Also....60 ghouls auto wounding on a 5+ with hoarfrost -3, with the judge 2 damage....wow

Ushoran has a base that's bigger than 3 inches so he can never be wholly within 3 inches if any unit, seeing as you measure distances from one model not multiple

Question- around the Noble Deeds. Rob, you mentioned that you allocate wounds from the mount and the hero at the same time. Is this correct? If we have two weapons profiles on the warscroll- 1 is for the mount and 1 is for the hero. I get that you have to declare where the attacks are going at the start of engagement, but are you also rolling wounds for all of them? Wouldn't it be the case that you declare "all attacks are going into the unit" then you roll and resolve the hero's (including save & ward rolls) and THEN resolve the mounts attacks? Sorry if that doesn't make sense

The person receiving the wounds decides how the wounds are allocated so they can allocate mounts first to stop the character getting deeds

It makes no sense why they are adding so much recursion in this FEC book when they completely gutted OBR recursion by nerfing the shit out of the harvester and making IG and Stalkers hard to bring back. They should either revert the nerfs to OBR or change alot of this book before it's out as it's not fair to add even more healing and recursion to an army when they already know how bad too much can be. It's so dumb imo.

I don't know that it'll ever be a once per game revive. The units are all pretty squishy, and the previous book let you straight up add free units to the army. Realistically you were playing with like 2500 points. Maybe make it so you can't return the units to full strength with Muster Guard or Rally? That would be the easiest fix I could think of if it is a problem. Also, playing to try to kill the foot heroes will kill the mechanic for your opponent. Soulblight get to do it without needing a hero, Ossiarch revives models but can't return destroyed units, and nighthaunt have some recursion (not a ton) but are hard to kill due to rend not doing anything to them. If FEC doesn't have some sort of recursion then they'll end up being one of the weaker death factions.

I think it's important to really recognize that while the reviving is very strong and very good, it has limitations and I think that's what keeps its power level in check. There are no units that currently rally in combat. So I'm not sure what that's about. Yes power creep is real, I don't think this is OP. 1.It costs a resource that you have to generate. 2.The resource guves you other boosts that you have to give up. 3. It's limited to heroes, if they die, the mechanic is gone. 4. The range is shorter than normal. 5. Returning on battle edges can be less than ideal. The hunger is. The hunger is a huge mistake lets be honest. They have written rules that are broken. I don't think this book has much thats OP other than the command shut off from the guards. That's broken. That shouldn't exist.

After watching the video, the main question I have is do you run any of the big monster heroes. If you do, are you running terrorgheist for the damage or Ushoran for the utility? Both are strong, however you're likely only running one of them because of the necessity of the small heroes taking up a load of points in your list.

Ok so, nighthaunt have a 32% winrate currently. This book will consistently smash that book. So if two pals only have those armies then the game is wildly unfair. Comp analysis is kinda this ramped up. I think each army should have a chance and skill should matter. However as it's a gw game and that won't happen I'm just embracing the silly
