The best part about this book is that we now know the damage profile for hitting your mate with a Battle Tome is 1 attack at 3+'s and 4+'s no rend D3 damage.

One thing I will say is the book seems much more digestible than the last book. I remember when the previous book came out there were many cries of anti-synergy and it being difficult to figure out where to start with list building. It might be Rob's excellent breakdown but the rules seem much easier to parse this time around. Thanks for the review.

Unless I'm missing something, the dirigible suit is not a mount so the endrinmaster in D suit is a 12" move, 8w, 3+ sv GC. That's pretty big.

I believe if I'm not mistaken though that the battalions allow you to double use the commands because they specifically say the command is not issued, meaning you can issue the command for real a second time in the same phase.

The Command is still received and considered "used" though; this was in an FAQ as far as I recall. It just means that you don't need a hero or champion to issue it.

I'm so stoked. Previous edition KO were such a NPE. I felt bad playing them, even when losing. New tome will be so much more fun for both players, regardless of competitive ranking.

Just to clarify units embarked in a Skyvessel can still shoot while they are embarked. Using the ship as the reference point correct?

Great video. Thanks for breaking it down objectively with just enough insight and opinion for those not so familiar with KO or current meta. As a non KO player who loathed playing them due to their un-interactive play style I am happy to see some of these changes. My favorite ever game v KO was against balloon boys so fingers crossed they are now a decent competitive option as well as a selection of boats and heroes outside of the purple sun+iron clad+fly high combo we all know and loathe

I've got 2 sets of those Archaeocopter wings from 40k....I think they might have to be some alternate propulsion for kitbashed Frigates. This tome looks REALLY good. And painting gold is pretty easy. Thanks for doing this review!

Is it possible to embark and disembark on the same turn? Didn’t see anything against it and the reason I ask is because if you had a boat then you could move the unit, get into the boat then immediately pop back out and you got like an extra 8 inches from that 😂 I’m assuming not but that would be hilarious

If I’m being honest I totally prefer the honest non-and Dkaye reviews they come out earlier and no one is being paid or under contract so they can say whatever they want about the codex for battletomb. There are a few things that I’m a little annoyed about but overall I’m happy about this codex the frigates are actually good, the big boys are decent but aren’t a Allen clued just to have a good game. And the jet pack boys are going to be nice and spicy and make those boats even more annoying lol. I’m also happy that they aren’t totally broken like some of the armies that have been coming out I didn’t want them to come out really good but then get NERFED down to nothing there will be a couple of nerves or somethings need to be cleared up but the majority of stuff hopefully the price When it comes to points stay pretty similar

I know it's only 6" range for the bomblet but man...2+ until you kill. That's pretty harsh. Atleast if it said if the wound is not negated, then some units would be sort of "pushed" out of the ideal candidate range. But that's way too strong. It should be 3+ or if the wound isn't negated it keeps going. I don't like abilities that are super strong and automatic or basically automatic because it's a 2+ roll. Like 2+ are fine. But stuff that's super strong like auto kill abilities, shouldn't be at 83% chance. That's pretty OP. Also the spell in a bottle just got laterally shifted. It's arguably better now because it negates purple suns point cost. Also kind of lame.

Statistically this is actually quite swingy and you should expect between 4 to 5 wounds with 16,666% chance of failing with your first roll. Sure you can go on a while but you can also do nothing and suicide yourself…

@@Tulkash01 I said that, 83% of succeeding. I highlighted that it's very short range. And maybe it'll never be taken because of that. Just seems like a better balance would have been 3+ and maybe a slightly larger range like 9" . Maybe I'm wrong. I just don't personally like auto kill abilities.

I thought people were playing move across as "I'll just say that these models move 3" forwards and then 3" back exactly into their current positions and have therefore moved across your unit" ?? It sounds like cheating to me because the model hasn't moved, but movement isn't defined as straight line from point A to point B, it's just defined as a model can move up to it's movement value and can turn as many times as you want....

You can do that but as you have to be 3" away and end 3" away that means the total is always over 6" and you can't achieve that total with d3+3

The book seems to have lost a lot aka fly high every turn with every boat to gain not that much thing, the stat are not that good and this is just me or I feel the allegiance ability are really camplicated and weak compare too other 3.0 book ? You have a lot of restrictions : OPB effect , 3" of the ennemy, ... And you have command ability that does nothing bc who care about a boat that can run, reroll run and shoot if the people inside have been considerate to have run and so can't shoot. It's certainly a better book that before but it keep the KO feeling of everything is a bit wack and inconsistant
