I agree Julian. Especially in Jamaica. There are alot of private sector companies who would benefit from this.
@Lean_mean1012 жыл бұрын
Yes bro, I share the same views on that. If we can make track and field a franchise in Jamaica that will do a lot for the sport I believe. This will also boost our performance, because it will open the gate to more competition. More people who can't afford to travel because of financial constraints won't have to worry about that etc.

We have that club system in the UK and across Europe. The top club in each participating European country meets that summer to crown a champion. The issue is there is only one international competition a year and the UK club system only has four outdoor comps and no indoor league. More frequency is needed.

I definitely think country vs country would bring a lot of viewing to the sport. Also it’s all about selling and the hook. Most reports are just “track and field comes to Japan” instead of “come see the fastest in the world go ahead to head” or “the strongest throwers and best jumpers in the world”.

The big concern tho would be our talent pool. Would it be large enough for us to see consistent quality local performances to keep fans interested. Truth is that Jamaica has a waggonist culture and not a lot of patient track fans around.

I had the same idea but most top athletes wont want to go all out and risk injury on such races. Am sure if decent money is being rewarded a lot of the upcoming ones will want to participate though...After a while it may very well entice the top guns.

To make track and field interesting to people you have to integrate races that anyone in any sport can run for instance a 40 yard dash competition where track, football, soccer, basketball athletes or anyone can participate in and bracket it like a basketball playoffs. More of the general public correlate with a 40 yard dash time than a 100 meter run. That will garner attention.

they got a track and field league up here in the usa. the teams compete with each other during indoors and outdoors.... its called the tfl... they just had a track & field draft this year. they got a website and everything... you should figure out how to get jam to start a pro track and field league. eventually make the competitions international.

Like professional sprinting in the stawell gift in Australia and in the highland games in scotland.. handicapping events so men and woman and people of differing abilities can compete against eachother.. Example FORTE V FRASER-PRYCE how many metres head start you giving her etc.. can be done in all events even field events whereby its done on a point system like multi events. Or different take off boards etc.

You are using the freelap system in a very wrong way @3:32 e.g. - the two starting pads are too close to each other -> the one faster reacting will activate both chips and the later signal won't be detected - you don't need to place two cones per checkpoint if the sprinters use the lanes right and left to it - one is enough to activate both chips and register the splits (two would be more likely to cause bugs and inaccurate splits) I hope that helps :)
