Overnight In A Fire Lookout | Fillet Mignon Dinner

I stayed the night in an old fire lookout and had the BEST meal of my life! At an elevation of 6,500ft, I was in awe of such spectacular views all around me! The adventure began at the bottom of the mountain. A twelve-mile forest road to the top with sharp curves and large boulders proved to be a challenge to summit. After an hour and forty-five minutes, I finally made it! The tower sat atop buckhorn ridge and stood 26ft above the ground. The wind was heavy at the time but slowly dissipated as the night drew on. After carrying my gear up and down the fire lookout I was exhausted and ready to relax. The sunset was awe-inspiring! One of the best I've witnessed. Once the sun went down it was time to cook. A four-course meal fit for a king! A delicious bruschetta appetizer followed by a pear gorgonzola salad to start. Once I polished them off I was on to the main course! Bacon-wrapped filet mignon and brussel sprouts! Simply divine! I have not had a better tasting filet! For dessert, I had a strawberry cheesecake trifle! My taste buds were overwhelmed with joy to consume that dessert! In the morning I witnessed an extraordinary sunrise. With a 360 view of the horizon, I had the best seat in the house! I will never forget this experience and am so thankful I was able to capture it all on film for others to enjoy!

That thing in the middle is a compass with 2 sights. It allows the rangers to look through the two sights towards the fire/smoke to determine an azimuth or compass bearing in the direction of the fire. Two sights plus the fire/smoke makes 3 points, and anytime you line up 3 points it will always be a straight line. Been watching your Camping channel, this is the first video on this channel. Great content.

You must try it! The easiest way I found to find them was by using the “recreation.gov” app just search for cabins and lookouts and you will find all types to choose from! So much fun!
