I was at work in Cupertino. It was a wild ride. I was in an office above an underground parking area. Whoa! Saw people unable to stand up outside. Prepare. It will happen again. I live on the East Coast now so hurricanes are the major threat.

I was a little kid watching the World Series in Daly City when the initial Earthquake hit . When the first aftershock hit I was outside in front of my childhood house and watched the street turn into a cement wave . I'll never forget it .

I drove across the Bay Bridge, on my way to the Opera, about 10 minutes before the quake. Was just parked and out of my car when it hit. It's the memory of the sound: the beyond-description roar and grind of the mass of the City trying to hold together: that haunts me. I have a fear of going up in a tall building now.
