Burning bay leaves for medicinal properties dates back to the ancient Greeks and Romans. It is also known as Apollo’s Bay Leaf, Bay, Bay Laurel, Grecian Laurel, Indian Bay, Laurel, Nobel Laurel, Poet’s Laurel, Roman Laurel, Royal Laurel, Sweet Bay, Sweet Laurel and Wreath Laurel.
The Greek mythology about this medicinal herb; There was a Greek nymph named Daphne. A nymph is defined as (a mythological spirit of nature imagined as a beautiful maiden inhabiting rivers, woods, or other locations.) Daphne was the daughter of the river God Peneios. Apollo, the son of Zeus was known as the god of light, medicine and truth. He was lustful for Daphne and she did not feel the same about him. Daphne asked her father for help, as she felt as though she was being harassed by Apollo. Her father transformed her into a laurel tree, which produces bay leaves.
Bay leaves contain powerful compounds such as pinene, cineol, Linalool and elemicin that, when burned, produce a nerve-soothing effect, as well as a pleasant energy boost.
Burning bay leaves releases those medicinal properties into the air, and when inhaled can put you in a relaxed state of mind that in turn alleviates feelings of fatigue.

i only do it when i feel i could use more calm at home or it feels good--- so there's no one way. that said, I don't do anything to extremes when it comes to potent aromatherapy and the like. i've only done this sporatically. some people who do this do it more often. as always, be safe and only burn things at your own risk- without ever leaving them unattended :) xoxo!!!

lucy5052 it depends on your leaves. I have some people that have them burn like wild. Mine also need to be re-lIt often. I’ve also found that a few at a time tend to burn better 🤞🏼

I burn it from bottom, like upside down. They really engulf. Basically letting it burn upwards like a flame would naturally. And I smoke mine in a bowl. Talk about relaxed and focused, I'm going to burn some before I go to bed. See what dream I may have lol I already awoken the kundalini serpent.. :) my life is changing for the good now.
