BAY PARKING REVERSE | 45 degree method

Reverse bay parking between 2 cars is the goal today. We will be using very low clutch control and lots of observations before and during this bay parking manoeuvre.
This approach to reverse into a space is not the same as what is expected on the UK driving test. The approach is what some people call the swing to the right method(45 degree method) and is commonly used by most drivers after they pass the driving test.

Hi. I watched all your vids on the 45 degree reverse parking method but they did not include a reference point. For example, you did not say if your car's side mirror or your car door was in the centre of the target parking bay before you went full lock to the right. I really wish you had said that.

It still boggles my mind why we are teached the 90 degree method, when I honestly can not think of a time I would use it over 45 degree method.

I've been struggling a bit with this method so I'm going to try doing it the way you describe. Can you tell me at what point past the space I want to reverse in do I start turning the steering wheel? Also how close do you recommend being to the space. Thanks 😊

Get your car about half a foot past the space, then as you are reversing check your side mirrors to make sure you are going to pass the cars on each side, if not, go forward and reposition and start again. The more you practice the better you become. Good luck

As he said in the video, Have the rear left corner or your car close to the right of the other car, Full lock and reverse it in checking all around and then straighten up and come to a stop when in the bay.

Unfortunately no. on the reverse bay parking manoeuvre the examiner asks you to drive the car out of the bays to the left or right and bring the side of your car parallel with the end of the bays. This method is how you will probably do the manoeuvre after you pass.
