Bart runs 2 express trains, both are slightly different. The Pleasant Hill limited skips rockridge, Orinda,Lafayette, and Walnut Creek. The other is the 24th Street limited which is the one this train was doing, and it only skips Lafayette and orinda. Only the yellow line has skip stop services

I mean, a new train set costs at least $500K each in today's economy. At least BART is trying with all the infrastructure improvements to keep the system running like does.

@@MJofLakelandX Not to mention contending with station cleanliness, paying the workers, paying for much-needed security/police (stabbings in recent months....), and fare evasion (there were talks of deploying the types of subway turnstiles, just like the ones they have in New York.... the ones that extend from the floor to the ceiling).

BART basically wants to get these trains moving in the rush-hour direction as quickly as possible to increase line capacity, and the easy way to do that is to speed up the train's journey my making it skip unnecessary stops.

The last time I remember it was non stops on the yellow line from SFO to Daly City in the PM commute, No stops in San Bruno, South San Francisco, and Colma Stations. I rode it for myself, and we didn't have these new BART trains at the time like we have now.

I happened to spot this train heading the opposite direction I was going a couple times while riding BART, and I used the exact time I saw it and where it was to pinpoint its schedule. Don't worry most wheels made by Bombardier sound like that at high speed. It's not a wheel flat. Toronto's newer subway cars and Go's Bi-Levels make the same sound.

These trains typically operated between Montgomery and Pleasant Hill, the busiest section of the line. I do have a lot of footage in the pipeline but life has just been super busy, once I have a minute I will upload more though!

@@agems56 Comparing subways with High Speed Rail makes not much sense. 76 mph in a tunnel is very impressive for BART, considering the top speed of the Berlin U-ban is only 45 mph. Other references: (NY- 55 mph, Paris-43 mph, Shanghai- 60 mph, LA-79 mph)

Still too noisy. But at least the cloth seats are gone. They would absorb dirt, liquids smuggled onboard and other unmentionable fluids. I often brought a piece of cardboard in my attache case to place on a filthy seat fabric.

When this video was shot, BART ran peak-hour trains between Pleasant Hill and various San Francisco stations. They changed these trains' terminus to Concord in 2020, before COVID-19 forced BART to cancel peak-hour service to cut costs.
