I specifically saw a video where a scientist does a collar comparison test between fake and real and the fake one had Calcium Carbonate on it (Pretty much just CHALK).... People need to get thrown in jail for selling that crap

Yes I'm finding that out now. My cats had the collars on for only 8 days and they become lethargic and had tremors and no appetite. I pray that none of my cats die from this. I pray I caught it in time. It's tearing my heart up about this.

Theres also a tiny bayer symbol near the beginning of the real collar and the fake collar doesn't have that.

Thanks for the advice. I went to Pet Basics, located the local sources, and got the best price from Tractor Supply (TSC). It was about $6 less expensive than at the "pet" stores. I got burned on a fakey from eBay a few years ago. It had little effect. I finally (in desperation) re-investigated the Seresto and listened to your posting.

Thanks so much for the video ... I had no idea there were fakes out there... we ordered one online being completely unknowing of the fakes out there... once we got it - I decided to look up an unboxing to see if I can tell if it was legit and find so many fake videos. This one we got almost looks 100% legit - except one minor detail and after I called Bayer they confirmed it was fake.

I have purchased Flea collar from VetSupply for my Gipsy, as he was ill because of flea and ticks. My Vet suggested me to give this. I am giving him this from 3 months and I can literally see the change in him. This product has improved his overall health.

This explains the horrible reviews and the USA today news article. People are reporting their pets dying, or having some other issue after applyibg the collar. It's probably due to fake Seresto collars! I think I'll purchase this from Petco and not online. Thank you so much!

Thank you for this video! I just bought a new Seresto online and got concerned about its veracity. The one that I bought was made in Germany to be sent to USA. It came without the reflectors. An issue that I found in the collar was that It doesn't have the Bayer logo on it, and when I cutted the loose edge after placing on my dog´s neck there was a small air bubble on the middle of the collar. In the leaflet I found a word that might be spelled wrong, ctenocephalides canis, that should be spelled with a capital C. (Ctenocephalides canis). Also in the leaflet is always specified for dog above 8 kg (I guess because was made in Germay), But in the metal box its specifies in Kg and Lbs. However the serial number in the metal box, plastic bag and the collar matches, although in the metal box number there is an "0" and in the plastic bag and collar´s number looks more like a "O". Does anyone have any thoughts if this could mean that I have a fake collar? Thank you very much!!

I believe you have 2 fakes. An authentic Seresto collar container does NOT have any stickers on the can. Both of your have a sticker on the bottom. Seresto prints directly on the container!

I bought three from Pet Smart, listed as an authorized seller, all have a sticker on the bottom, the inside of the case lid is red.

So I just bought 2 from PetSmart today. The large one had the sticker on the bottom and the small had sticker imprinted on the bottom so I think it depends on the size...anyway I have my receipt so I'm going to try and verify the lot numbers for authentication

I have been told by a Bayer authorized dealer that Seresto is MAP priced at $57. Occasionally Bayer will allow a 10% off sale, but never more. So anything under $50 is likely fake.

I just got one of these & called Bayer, but they were unable to conclude if the collar that I received was fake or not. It's exactly like the one in your video. Pretty much the only "tell" is the "Seresto Large Dog" lettering on the side of the lid being wavy & not printed straight.

The red vertical line on the plastic is key, as well as having a Lot # on the back .Also price .If iits really cheap it's a fake .The authentic collars aren't going to sell for less than $53

P.S. you need to get them from your vet. There are counterfeit ones. My vet told me don't ever buy these in a pet store.

I go straight to my vet to purchase them have been for 7 years now. My vet told me the same thing that they are usually counterfeit in pet stores and on line. I have no worries since I always go straight to my vet to get any type of medicine or product for my dogs

Official seresto collars don’t have a printed expiration date. I just called Bayer to ask about a suspected counterfeit that has the same lot number as this video and he told me there is no expartion date on the Bayer/Elanco product. Hope that helps!!

There are several online fake sites selling Soresto collars for as low as $17.98 citing a one day 'Black Friday' sale. The URL's show a soresto name but has a slight variation such as an added o, eo, eos, extra dot, etc. If you purchase it the name on the receipt is Chinese. Should you make a purchase contact your source of payment, ie PayPal, Credit Card, Debit Card provider and to cancel or make a claim to get your money back ASAP.

We did some research before buying these cat collars. We had them before via Chewy. We just received six of them from Chewy and they are legit but they have stickers on the bottom label, not imprinted, fyi.

Just bought on ebay and put them on my long haired chihuahua. After a day or two she had a seizure, after a couple days she is CRAWLING with fleas. Ebay is done in my books because of this. I will no longer shop there for anything. The True Seresto collars are awesome. The eBay ones are the worse.
