My vet pushed a topical on my jack russell when she was a year old (over 23 yrs ago) and she began to immediately react to the meds. I rushed her into the bath and scrubbed that toxicity off her rinsing and washing several times until I could smell no residue on her. I have had over 16 rescues in 24 years and I stay far away from chemicals. It is a lot more effort but we take the time to treat our property and our animals without harsh pesticides. My dogs were and are fed raw and cooked foods everyday. My jack russell passed from natural causes at 20 and her siblings at 19. Please take care of your family members because the government is certainly not looking out for any of us. Thank you Dr. Jones for being such an honorable human being!

@@dawnaustin4556 just as @womanoftheozarks mentioned. Dawn original or even Original Palmolive can be used along with diatomaceous earth in and around our home. We also used cedar oil by a Texas based company but they have since changed their formula and it is no longer effective. But if you have a bad infestation of ticks, I would suggest clearing any debris or wood piles or leaves around your property. We had a horrible infestation one year (we live in south Texas) and unfortunately we had to use a chemical (Cutter Spray) to knock them out the first round. One round of the nasty stuff is better in the long run as my small dog Sparky and I were bitten by a lone star tick(s) and I have issues relating to the bite, today. Sparky unfortunately did not make it. Get rid of those nasty critters before your family or pets can be affected. Once you throw a wrench into their life cycle, then follow up with dish soap, DM and make sure to keep the yard clear of leaves, wood piles etc. It does take some effort and the key is to be consistent but you can get rid of them as we did. All the best to you in keeping your family including furry ones safe!

@@donnafernandez3712 Sure, but by no means am I a pet nutritionist but this has worked for my babies. I feed them chicken, beef, turkey, fish that we've caught, venison, nilgai, rabbit, (during hunting season) beef livers, chicken hearts and gizzards, steamed carrots, green beans, blueberries, pumpkin, etc. I will go organic with veggies. I supplement their food with freeze dried or air dried nutrition nuggets that contain vitamins and minerals. When processing wild game for them, I keep the bones and freeze them to have as treats and to help clean their teeth. I feed them safe herbs from my garden and make broths from bones too small to feed to the animals. I also give them goat's milk from our natural pet store. I don't normally wash store bought meats but I have on occasion if I feel they need to be and of course when processing wild game. I hope this helps a bit!

Bayer will never suffer any consequences. They (allegedly) nearly killed one of my cats and made 4 of them sick, gave my friend lymphoma, lied to investigators, bribed officials... Seresto was safe like Zyklon and their funding of Josef Mengele... Oh, right this is an Elanco product now and I suppose Zykon B and Mengele were technically IG Farben, their parent company they couldn't be responsible for. RoundUp isn't their carcinogen soup, they just make it and Monsanto is entirely responsible or something. They (allegedly) lie, bribe, and ripped off Medicaid, Medicare, and DoD contracts (oh but they settled without admitting fault so can't we say they're at fault technically). They (allegedly) slaughter humans, animals, anything alive, and trample everyone on earth yet nothing *ever* happens. Hell that settlement was a mere $40m. Only a mil went to the gov (who they stole your tax money from). You think that even covered all that fraud and investigative expense? Eat ze bugs, own nothing, take your meds, and be at work tomorrow. 😷x2 The people doing science never get heard while the papermill charlatans shout over your dinner table about the safety and effectiveness and transparency of their BS. Our crazy grandparents were right, the criticisms of the Soviets were right (the subject matter experts on our faults, who we ignored for our own safety), Elon Musk is right and he could even be a bad guy by the look of things, Alex f-in Jones was right (?!), everyone was right - but it's just so uncomfortable to talk about, it doesn't sound very patriotic, and we're so *powerless* to do anything so let's trust the experts and put our "phones" in our pockets to spy on ourselves all day (for safety, scary ppl you know) while the unrelenting notification bar delivers your programming in a much more efficient way than idiot boxes ever did, and live our Dream. We have *real* problems to litigate, like Tide Pods. It's all for your own good you see, for safety. Trust - the one thing the government trains its own to never fall victim to but also the thing you're expected to give them implicitly, and to the EPA experts who declared Seresto was fine as long as some more fine print was added to the box for liability protection. Play the Shell Game! Guess which shell the pea is under, win a prize, step right up folks! This is semantic warfare with real casualties yet they're winning because we're weak, terrified, stupid peasants who will do nothing of real meaning to stop them. Maybe another lawsuit will fix it? Vote harder. At least you can always get an AI pet that will never die of alleged poisoning and it will forever watch you, to keep you safe of course.

Prior to this 8 gave him a good bath to get rid of the poison. In within a few days he was healed and acting perfect. I was so mad at the vet. She recommended it and I was not really sold on it. I bought this collar few years ago for my 2 huskies because we spent a lot of time during the summer in the forest. Collar had great reviews so we decided to try it. I putted it on my pups in the morning. We went for a long walk and then they were sleeping in the camper while we went fishing. We cane back after couple of hours and noticed puke everywhere. Our older boy was squeezed behind the bed shaking and our younger girl was heavily breathing. These collars were the only new thing we introduced to both of them that morning so I took them off immediately. We took them outside. Our girl did not want to walk. She was just laying down on the grass. Our boy was walking in circles and falling because his back paws were giving up on him. He looked like partially paralyzed. We couldn’t touch his back legs or stomach because he was screaming like he was in pain. We were in the middle of nowhere. The closest vet was almost 2 hrs away. We were about to pack and hit the road when they both drank some water and finally settled and fell asleep. When they woke up they seemed fine. I started to look for information about these collars and I found horrible stories. People were saying that dogs were paralyzed or even dying. Lots of people said that their dogs started to have bad symptoms after week or two of wearing these collars and it was too late. We were lucky that our huskies had immediate reaction so we took it off right away. This product shouldn’t be approved use on animals. Even after dogs were paralyzed or dying they kept selling it which is disgusting! Since that day we only use natural remedies for ticks and fleas.

This particular brand of collar contains some pretty high grade and nasty insecticides. A few years ago I bought a version of a flea/tick collar which had only essential oils infused such as lavender, citronella, peppermint, eucalyptus and clove - obviously a different brand. At the time we had 4 dogs and 2 cats. One quite elderly and fragile Chihuahua passed very suddenly just a few days after having hers put on. It has always been at the back of my mind that the collar ingredients may have helped her on her way - but she was 13-14 yrs of age and certainly lived at least 7 yrs beyond what a certain vet practice would have had in mind. The rest - an assortment of ages - were unaffected by the collars - so I take some assurance that it was just a coincidence and that it was her time to say goodbye. But I always steer clear of those highly damaging insecticidal treatments.

I make my own rosemary and olive oil combination to dab on the harnesses of my two Chihuahuas. Also lightly dabbing on them when they go out for walks. I use fresh home grown Rosemary blended with the purist cold press olive oil and strained into small jars. Dipping my fingers into the solution is my way of measuring and dispersing . The regular method of oral flea and tick meds give them seizures. This works for mosquitoes too. I originally experimented on myself for mosquitoes. Also combing them in a sink with *2* drops of Dawn in a couple of inches of water helps to illuminate fleas.

When using a flea comb be sure to have a bowl of soapy water ready to dip it in if you find any fleas. Find out why fleas are attracted to your pet. Is it because they're the only option available? Sometimes bugs are attracted to sick critters. Other times it might be a nutritional deficiency. For my dogs who are on a raw diet, raw garlic (small amount) seems to be helpful during height of flea season. Brewers yeast is also very helpful. There's a thought out there that a flea problem reveals your dog is low in B vitamins and Brewers yeast is high in B vitamins. Only Natural Pet has a medallion type thing that you just attach to the collar, that helps. Someone told me about raw amber being a flea/rick repellent, but we haven't tried it yet... If anyone has tried it please let me know how they liked it. Hope this is helpful to someone out there.
@WamsyAmsy8 ай бұрын
I had the amber collar thing and not sure it did anything. I ended up getting a pendant that she still wears. I also was giving raw garlic on a regular basis and decided to stop 2-3 months ago to give her a break from it. Man, that was a mistake bc we’re going through a situation now. I found a flea on her yesterday! She had some red spots on her body before that, but I couldn’t tell if it was pollen or from fleas. So I’ve been vacuuming every day and checking her body too. I can’t find fleas on her but she’s still red. Ugh. So, I don’t know if the pendant works 100%, I think it’s better if you have a combination of things. I went to buy garlic today and started with that again.

I bought one in 2020 for my tabby cat and it immediately caused her to start foaming at the mouth. I removed the collar and gave her a bath and fed her some milk. I contacted EPA, seresto nothing happened. I am so lucky it did not kill her. She is an inside cat and I will never use flea or tick medicine on her. A daily comb with a flea combs works great.

Thank you for sharing because May 25 2024 we put this collar on a 6 year old beagle and a week later she started acting differently, lethargic, weak in her legs, constipated, not eating, just not the same dog. I took the collar off and did some research and found this and many other things about this collar. Thankfully today she is showing signs of her old self but still weak in her back legs . We have a vet appointment today and I'm hoping that we can fix her up. Thanks again because I had no idea about this! New subscriber!

The Seresto flea collars are still on the market (at least in the US which is where I live). In July of 2023, the EPA decided to allow Elanco to keep selling the collars so long as the company follows enhanced incident reporting and disclosure about possible risks. I no longer use these collars on my dog and instead use one that has a few essential oils that are considered safe for dogs.

I am so sorry to hear of the dog deaths and illnesses contributed to the Seresto collar. My dog wore a Seresto collar several years from the time they went on market until he died in 2021. He never displayed discomfort or untoward signs for wearing that collar and it worked. I chose Seresto because a rather new flea/tick medicine he had received from the Vet and which I used for 2 to 3 monthly doses made him ill, with trembling. I called the company, not the vet, and was told to stop giving him that medication. Therefore, the Seresto. My dog lived with me for 11 years and developed diabetes in 2021.

My Vet pushed this and then Frontline when my sensitive Dog had reaction to the collar. On her first dose of Frontline she became wobbly, then her feet would just slide out from under her, then seizures, then vomiting. I took her to ER and the same Vet was there, after taking her out back and me hearing her yelp for over 8 minutes, he brought her back and said “you’ve been getting her too excited to see your Mom.” (?) I left, vowing to never mention Mom again. A month later I gave her next Frontline and same thing happened! I called immediately and got the Vet, he said: “oh then it may be the flea meds, the first time is a coincidence, the second time could be the meds”. I said to put her allergic reaction on her chart. Then I called right back and asked Receptionist if her reaction was on the chart (it wasn’t, he hadn’t put it on) and I asked her to do so, she went to Dr to get approval for the edit, got it, sent me confirmation “allergy to Frontline” was on there and I said “Great, thank you. Now could you please send her chart to my new Vet?” Unreal. Glad this collar is off market. Thanks Doc!!

I put one of those Seresto flea collars on my cat. By the next morning her poor neck was absolutely raw. I felt so horrible I cried! I’m so thankful she didn’t die! This was a couple of years ago, she was 14 then. Why can’t something be done about this? People should be able to sue these monsters for still selling these horrible things.

We tried this collar on our dog 4 years ago and we thought she was going to die! She was so sick. We reported it and asked for a refund. All of my complaints and emails went unanswered and no refund was issued. I gave her a bath and did some herbal treatments. Thankfully she recovered. How was this ignored for so long. Is it really off the market? I saw a commercial for it a few weeks ago.

Wow. I have used seresto for years but I will not buy again after seeing this. I resorted to buying these 60$ collars because my dog is allergic to the flea bites like literally 1 flea bite has him itchy and scratching for hours he would bald spots that are red and irritated. I will try the powder stuff that the vet on here recommends. The other thing is I do live in the country with a huge yard surrounded by woods we have many many many deer so I worry about tics . But I will look up some more of this veterinarian videos to find healthy solutions for my dog, also I live in south Carolina we have much longer flea season here because it's warmer here for longer months

I only use natural products. I have tons of essential oils and I know how to mix a few up. If I need to my Chihuahua rarely has fleas I don’t know how it happens but she rarely does. Seen animals that have been killed. I had a dog, my daughter and me flipped dogs because I could only have a small one, and she was taking care of my large one, and she gave her. She was an older dog, a flea dip And we had to take her in and she had to be put to sleep. She was old but it just was so heartbreaking because we kinda knew what happened. I don’t do it years ago. I put one on one of my cats and he acted weird and I took it off, I just monitored his body and put a couple natural things on him. When you do essential oils, you have to be very careful and use it carrier oil and just use a very small amount.
