I actually liked their "relationship" in the first film. Their scene at Hoover dam told me so much of Megatron and Starscream's dynamic. It's like a more gritty version of Armada Megatron and Starscream. "I tried to to gain favor from you, but nothing was ever good enough. Not matter how many victories I brought, you ALWAYS focused on my faults." This is how I saw Starscream and Megatron in the first film Starscream at the start is a VERY competent warrior, doesn't waste time with theatrics or monologuing, is methodical and doesn't waste movement or shots. He actually puts in calculated and serious effort. A true Decepticon and warrior. The problem for Starscream is that for all his accomplishments (which are considerable), Megatron is just WAY better. And this makes Megatron have absurd standards for Starscream that must be met, and yet despite Starscream's best efforts to do so, the times that he fails are more recognized than his victories, frustrating the Decepticon Seeker Air Commander to end, making the Decepticon SIC more bitter to Megatron, creating tension between the two. (Then all that was washed away in the second and third films)

The Autobots were fluent in English after being on Earth for not even a full day, and Optimus explains they learned Earth languages through the internet. Starscream presumably was on Earth for longer than they were, so it's likely he was already fluent in English too. However the Decepticons would've looked down on Earth languages and only used them when necessary. His voice in the next two films was actually closer to his G1 voice, higher pitched and whiny. I have no idea why he still spoke in a deep growling voice in Cybertronian, but spoke in his high pitched nasally voice in English.

Starscream could always fight, there have been many moments in different Transformers media where he's been shown to stand his ground - he just typically knows when to back down when the odds are stacked against him. It's even been shown in these films that he'll run off when the Autobots have the turning point.

Even doing a significant amount of damage to Optimus before he got beaten back (if you count deleted scenes). If you were referring to the end of the movie where Optimus was fighting against Megatron and the Fallen however, well that fight was significantly shorter than the forest battle so even if Megatron had time to call in reinforcements, he would've still lost, which meant Starscream potentially dying and on that note, you're right.

Things about Bayverse Starscream I actually like: - his first (English) voice line. It’s very garbled and alien and I kind of wish that was his voice for the rest of the movies. (His second English voice line is what his voice actually sounds like for the first movie, though. It’s not bad, either.) - the fact that he constantly speaks Cybertronian. He’s the only one to consistently do so. - whenever he’s not doing anything, he’s perching somewhere. Usually nearby Megatron. Giant metal bird. - he seems to really like being in the air. He mostly attacks from above, perches, and is usually up high on a building or ledge instead of on the ground - he fly!!! I really wish more Transformers shows would allow him to be the terror of the skies instead of constantly on the ground. - he can actually win a fight. Pls let Starscream win more fights I am BEGGING - the implication that he is raising like a truckload of sparklings/hatchlings. Where did they come from? Why does he have them? Why does he seem to be the only one actually worried about them?? Hello???? -WOMP WOMP WOMP WOMP - the fact that he’s constantly near Megatron. A two for one Decepticon deal! -“come here, *boy”* (has the same energy as “not so fast, papa!”) -THAT LITTLE LOOP THING THAT HE DID AROUND MEGATRON WHEN HE FIRST LANDED!! (In their first scene together, it’s kinda fast but you can see Starscream come from the top left, fly under Megatron, and loop back behind him once Mega hit the ground)

the areal fight with the fleet of raptors was by far the most memorable fight in the first movie mostly because there are no distracting random explosions around it. Sure the camera's a tad too close but at least its not shaking or focusing on any human while the main attraction is in the background. you obviously can tell starscream jumps off one while shooting another, tears off a wing and spins it out of control with his bare hand/claw, transforms into jet mode, one raptor lands a missile on him, transforms back, swipes at it and misses, transforms back and boosts through. i still remember seeing it in the cinema back in 07, it kicked so much ass.

@@falius9878 I didn't like it either with his silly chicken legs. I grew up with armada starscream, and i didn't mind the choice of an F-22 raptor since that was his vehicle of choice in energon. But there wasn't one bad starscream scene in the first movie at all that they made up for the design. I guess we could also at least be thankful they kept him being so submissive around Megs and somewhat wanting to be a leader which is more than i can say for the likes of the other decepticons who don't have character in these movies. seriously we need more decepticon scenes heck make a movie of them, that sounds more fun.

Seriously though his death in DOTM was absolutely humiliating, Like most people said "he was tougher in Transformers 1 but fans made noise because his character in TF1 didn't match his Cowardly nature in the rest of the series. If anyone should have killed him it should have always been Megatron 👆💯 I really miss him BAD!! man, i also miss the Dreads, Soundwave, Rampage, Ravage, Mixmaster, Scorponok and Demolisher. 🙁👆👆 I just hope they make more transformers games for current gen, im literally dying for more transformers games but if they don't it might not bother me so much because im going back to PS3 at some point when i can get one so i can play those transformers games i didn't play years ago. Starscream is such a sadist. You can see so many cases where Starscream would show active enjoyment in tormenting lesser beings and because of that intoxicating thought that he’s the superior creature compared to the being he’s tormenting, it causes him to fail, like when he’s chasing Sam in Dark of The Moon. He purposely toys with Sam and Carly while chasing them just to terrify them before killing them. That ultimately caused his downfall. Had he just fired a missile upon them or shot them with his machine gun turret, he would’ve survived, killed Sam and moved on. Maybe then we would’ve seen him in the new movies. I sometimes wonder what an Age of Extinction and Last Knight Starscream design would look like.

I enjoy the fact that Star Scream's voice was changed from what it originally sounded like in the first film. In movie 1 he just sounds like a generic decepticon, more or less just a higher version of Megatron's voice, but then in 2 and 3 they give him his proper voice.

9:24 so I see everyone give starscream crap for dying how he does here, so naturally I’m going to dissect it to clarify what even happened to Starscream. First, he has a grappling hook literally impaled into his eye, with three very sharp and thin (and thus arguably even more painful) prongs slicing into the sides of his eye and then as if that ain’t enough it then slowly but painfully tears his eye out of its socket and because of Sam, I imagine the thing starts weighing a lot and thus pulling on his exposed eye even harder. Now, considering it’s a man getting his eye yanked out of its socket, imagine that for Starscream, his nerves are being yanked and pulled until they are exposed on his literal face like stray pieces of noodles…I don’t feel the need to clarify how agonizing it would be to have your literal nerves torn out of your eye socket alongside your eyeball. Understandably so, Starscream is briefly stunned, shocked, and definitely in immense pain as he stumbles backwards in surprise due to his sudden injury. Then he naturally holds the wound like most people would as well as stumbling around since he’s lost 50% of his vision and is still in immense pain since Sam is weighing the wire down and thus pulling harder on Starscream’s exposed eye. During his initial confusion and whatever the Hell equivalent of an adrenaline rush a Cybertronian would have- he climbs up on the building and then tries to grab/smash Sam and the wire but misses and just hits the building as Sam once again flys around and just makes the hook pull harder. Afterwards, Starscream loses his grip on the building and falls backwards, stumbling into the wall before he regains his footing and actually does grab the wire to try and remove the damn thing. Now the part after where he just sorta stumbles backwards isn’t really something I can explain since it seems rather pointless but Starscream may have just experienced enough pain offscreen right before we cut back to em that makes him briefly lose focus and just stumble. Afterwards, Starscream flies up and clearly tries to just swing Sam off of him, although I do realize he could and should have continued flying he may have forgotten it in the moment since he is in agony and all, or he didn’t want to fly literally half blind- either way he fails but Sam gets stuck in the building behind him, likely making the wire pull because of the angle it’s now at (aka behind him, or at least trying to be). Starscream probably would have been able to regather his composure and then grab Sam, but the soldiers happened to show up and then start blasting and shooting his sorry ass to pieces all while his eye is still being yanked behind him. While being turned into a Cybertronian pin cushion, Starscream takes a rocket straight to the shoulder and gets knocked back into the building, with the damage even if minor likely still all building up and overwhelming him since the bullets the army is using are armor piercing rounds; since normal ammo would do jack all against a bloody robot. While he’s briefly staggered from the missile the shoulder and the small platoons suddenly ambush + his still exposed eye and the wire yanking it the entire time he’s trying to fight off said ambush, Sam decides to just make it so much worse by jumping onto Starscream’s face, like surprising and confusing Starscream since he has what is essentially a giant ass cockroach just dangling on his face after he had been shot to Hell two seconds earlier- and while he has a moment, Sam impales Starscream’s other eye with what is essentially a damn harpoon for screamers poor eye socket- popping his eye right out of its socket in what is likely another massive dose of raw agony. Again, as these are aliens, their “wires” are essentially the nerves and muscles of their body, so now Starscream has lost one eye, has one dangling out of its socket and being pulled around by a fully adult human male and the weight that comes with that, and Sam impaled a massive spike into the other eyes now empty socket, in other words slamming a butchers knife into the socket and all the nerves right behind it and then leaves it there. Naturally, Starscream loses his shit due to the pain and shock of the injury (plus the damage from fighting off Lennox and his crew seconds prior likely not helping at all) and freaks the Hell out since he is now 100% blind, or at least 90% if his still “attached” eye can still see things as it flails around…after being blinded and freaking out at, well, BEING BLINDED- he then falls to his hands and knees and desperately tries to just beat the objects imbedded into his face out by slamming his face into the ground, while cursing out the humans in anger and frustration. Small side note, Starscream likely hears the bomb in his eye socket beeping and being the second in command of an entire army for thousands of years like he has been means he knows it’s a bomb (if he wasn’t freaking out too much to even notice the beeping anyways) so he is likely starting to freak the royal Hell out since he’s not only blind, but he has a bomb stuck inside of his literal face now. After beating his face into the pavement to try and get rid of the bomb and grappling hook, Starscream stumbles around since he has no clue where the Hell he even is anymore as well as being in pain, and seems to start getting loopy almost- possibly due to losing so much energy from his injuries (the eyes being connected to his brain and having a spike shoved into one not really being the best way to treat his optics shall we say) or just having so much pain build up until he just loses his mind essentially. That or he’s just understandably pissed off and while in immense pain, tries to kick where he likely hears Lennox and Sam yelling at each other, on which note- Lennox is now also holding onto the grappling hook and thus adding even more weight to the damn thing, yanking Starscream’s eye even HARDER as he blindly stumbles around. After all of this, he tries to fly and stumbles backwards since he can’t see literally anything around him, and then flies straight up- now here he either has an internal problem preventing him from continuing to fly, he is just so overwhelmed by pain he can’t think clearly, or he doesn’t think of doing so and is panicking too much to consider such an option- that or he doesn’t want to risk flying since he can’t even see where he is anymore so he wants to avoid the risk altogether. Either way, he doesn’t keep flying and lands on top of the building, not that he would even know it was a building at this point- and tries to regain some footing on the unknown surface he’s now sitting on, all while his eye is yanked harder and harder by two adult humans, and the bombs beeping starts getting faster, adding to his panick and frustration. Then, as he finally gets a break from that god forsaken hook pulling his eye out every few seconds, he threatens to kill the humans in again a seemingly loopy voice suggesting he is suffering suffering energon loss (my favorite option) or is just so panicked and has just lost his shit so much he is saying random threats in anger…regardless, as he threatens them and tries to claw out the hook In his face, his head blows up from the inside and kills him on the spot. Summary: attacking his weak spot aka his literal eyes causes MAJOR agony, combined with Sam pulling his eye every time Starscream even moves slightly, creating a painful loop of trying to get him off and only increasing the pain leading to more flailing around and stumbling, leading to more pain. He is then ambushed and takes lots of damage, but is more importantly staggered when hit in the shoulder and then has a human clinging to his face out of nowhere, and then gets blinding with essentially a railroad spike into his other eye, completely blinding him and causing him to just lose his mind. I don’t feel the need to summarize how being blind makes it quite hard to prevent one’s death since they have no idea where they even are in relation to their surroundings anymore.

Imagine if future movies choose to continue the trend of Starscream’s spark being indestructible-He will probably have been fully aware of everything….including megatron holding his head and lamenting his death in the last knight. And he will probably never stop teasing him about it when/if he returns. Here’s how I think their reunion would go after the reveal. The main one I see missing is a clip from the Forest Battle seen in the only IMAX version of TF2, you can probably find it on youtube. It's a small extension of the Forest Battle where Optimus is getting pushed around by the Decepticons right before Megatron's kick to the face. Starscream noticeably uses his saw on Optimus in the clip.

I've always seen starscream as tactful, a brilliant second in command, but is always full of himself. If it weren't for his constant chase for leadership, and if he'd just focus on mastering his position, he could have a good chance in taking over.
