It's weird sometimes, I noticed in these fights. Some boss will hesitate to attack for some reason but when I fight them they just string these combos like crazy. Even if they stagger Bayle the will just walk or something. It feels like those moments were suppose to be input reads where the NPC's next action is based upon the player. Since there is no player action being done, it slightly slowing down their reaction.

tbh the fight from our perspective is very different. We can easily die in a couple of hits from strong bosses and have to keep our distance and time our attacks, That isnt an issue with bosses though since they have a wide variety of attacks, many bosses could hit bayle when most players would be running so that makes a huge difference.

@@KniGht1st1 thats weird because i was using the ancient dragon lightning strike incantation and it absolutely destroyed his health, there wasnt a lot of moments to get off a full charge but when i did it did around 17k damage with a +10 communion seal and only 28 faith it seemed like an insane amount of damage

I think the jagged peak drake isnt taking the full damage because its an open world enemy that only takes full damage if there is a player engaged in combat. Essentially the same when you see a camp of soldiers fighting a dragon in some areas of the game. They only start taking full damage once the player has engaged the enemies.

Like how the Abyss Watchers in DS3 dealt less damage to other enemies because they were intended to fight each other. The Jagged Peak Drake we're meant to fight has to be resistant to enemy damage other than ours because otherwise he'd be at 5% health by the time he defeats the other drake, like how the Abyss Watchers had to deal less damage to other enemies lest they kill each other in two hits making the first phase trivial for us.

Bayle is super fragile for how hyper aggressive he is, it's like he is trying to cover up for his weakness by being hyper active hoping his enemy doesn't get the chance to strike back, but that only works against the player who has to dodge everything and can't have enough hyper armor and stance damage Also I think fromsoftware gave him low poise because they knew Bayle is super aggressive and players won't get Manu chances to stagger him

when bayle fought radahn i was like "no way he gonna beat him especially with his ridiculous 2nd phase"... didn't even get him there. also ancient dragon man was just your average player fighting him.

Radahn is just full on horseshit. But it’s also just how his attacks interact with other bosses as opposed to players. Since bosses don’t get any hitstun i-frames and Radahn’s attacks hit many times over many areas, pretty much every single one of those is hitting Bayle’s huge hitbox. So that’s a lot of damage and poise damage every time Radahn does anything. We only get hit maybe 2-3 times by one of those big moves before the hitstun invuln spares us… until Radahn attacks yet again, but Bayle has no such luck. Also most of Bayle’s attacks don’t hit that many times, even if they cover a wide area and do a lot of damage, they’re meant to be avoided with the right spacing and timing. Radahn is not, he’s made to ensure you have multiple perfect dodges to avoid him because of how many active hits he throws out. Because of that, Radahn has so much more hits and poise damage. Also the way Bayle interacts with other bosses since unlike players they’re not nearly as affected by knockback so attacks that are meant to follow us just awkwardly slide by smaller bosses, also Bayle’s grabbing bite attack since grabs flat out don’t work on bosses which he uses earlier and more often. Devastating to players, literally a waste of time against bosses. Also Bayle has low poise since players aren’t expected to be able to hit him consecutively becuase of his hyper-aggressive moveset, which will naturally punish any player trying to do so, again, bosses don’t work that way. It’s kind of why his multi-lightning strike attack is perhaps his most devastating against bosses because its does exactly that against his opponent.

That particular drake is extremely resistant to other dragon damage. It’s the one that fights in the pit. If you look carefully you’ll see Bayle was hitting him for like 289 a hit. None of his moves are anything like that.

I love how the ones closest to a player (Rellana, Ancient Dragon-Man, Death Knight, and Chief Bloodfiend) are the ones Bayle absolutely shits on without even being stance-broken once, his greatest weakness.
