Nice work repairing and restoring to antique-look, a bayonet that would otherwise be considered worthless to a collector like myself, but it's always worth having a restored example in your collection, until a better one is obtained. Very nice work indeed.

Nice job! You preserved it as it looked when found, i see nothing wrong in that, making it look brand new had erased a lot of it's history, but things like the brooken tip are only disturbing in my oipinion, i think You found a wery good balance there. :)

Great job for an item I suppose is going to be a wall/display piece. If you would've restored it to practical use, I would suggest to normalize the weldings by heat treating them to or three times, let the blade cool down slowly between every heating, and then quince the blade and push back the hardness in a oven at approx. 220 C for two to three hours. :)

Excellent craftsmanship. A couple of pointers: (a)The added tip may not have the same strength and hardness characteristics as the original material through heat treatment (b) I would impregnate the wooden handle with linseed oil. Is the girl at the end the one who did all the work?

How much? I just bought a US M-1892 Krag Jorgenson Bayonet dated 1898, It is in very good condition but the original parkerized finish has been worn off the blade. Hasn't been sharpened so that's a good thing, The sheath is in very good condition, The rivet holding the belt loop is a little loose. It's not the first one I've owned, the first one had a rough sheath but the blade was pristine original. Lost it in a home burglary.

I am not sure about this particular model, but some models where blued/blackened in original to not shine in the sun and make the enemy ask question where those reflections came from, that's why bottons and other metal pieces are darkened in more modern uniforms.
