My Dad wrote this song! He's out of the music business now, but it would mean so much to him to know that it's had the impact it has on all of you! God bless!

dude- your dad is a cool dude. I had the privilege to be around him on the row, years ago. I've been a "professional" songwriter for my entire adult life. I'm multi-plat, had multiple songs of the year, number 1's, etc. I'm still NOT as good as Mickey Cates. He's super good and one of the greats and i'm still in awe. Please tell him Scotty Davis says hi. Cheers

I heard Mickey Cates perform at a pizza parlour in Portland, Tennessee. I was the small town newspaper editor doing a story. I bought a cassette of his album Sawmillville. It's still one of my favorite albums. Of all the famous people who have recorded his songs, no one sounds as good as he does himself.

Aaron, please tell your dad his gift to the world was and is amazing!!!! I still remember this song and I have no idea how or why I ended up looking it up today. The song reminds us just how delicate life is and how it can change in an instant. Songs like what your Dad wrote serve as our modern day poetry and for that I and many others are forever grateful. I hope your dad continues to write, talent like this doesnt happen every day.

Mickey Cates is an awesome writer. There's a different verse that never made it to the final recording. They combined some of the verses and left one out.

People convicted of DUI should have to ride along with the police officers detailed to make next of kin notifications after a DUI wreck.Let them see how devastating it can be to tell someone that a loved one isn't coming home anymore and why.

This song give a insite to my own haunted memories. I'm 58 years old an still live with the loss of my friend that died in a car wreck. Right after his death MothersAagainst Drunk Drivers had a public service announcement it ran on television. It shattered me every time I saw it. Friends don't let your friends drive drunk there slogan. Doug if this has been apart of your life you know what I'm saying. Survivors guilt last forever. Were here for a reason it gets blurred sometimes. Stay the course. Wait for the good times. look me up in Onalaska. we've met

+Bob Collins I've long felt that people convicted of a 1st offense DUI with no wreck,as in they got pulled over before anything else happened,shouldn't pick up garbage for 24 hours. That's too easy. Instead,they should have to spend 24 hours riding along with law enforcement detailed to make next of kin notifications after a DUI fatality. That way,they can see what it's like to stand on a stranger's porch too damn early in the morning,ringing the doorbell and trying to frame the words that you know will destroy the world of whoever opens the door.

Very strong message Mr Supernaw. Educating young people with facts and emotions very strong way to impact change in behaviors. You sir are on to something. Keep up the good fight. If there n is ever anything I can do to help. I'm only a phone call away. 936-714-9657 Bob Collins

Don't know about that but I've stood by the side of the road taking up extrication equipment and watched as my law enforcement friends picked who was going to go make this next of Kin notification. The usual thought going through my mind was "Man,I sure don't envy you this job."

There's nothing like that dirtbag guy in his 30's that still hangs out with high school kids once in a while. My buddies in hs had a couple of guys that they knew like that in the late 80's. Looking back, I can clearly see that the older guys have to work too hard to fit in with the same level of success as their equal-aged peers, but when hanging out with someone 10 or 20 years younger, they get an instant advantage when seeking out validation.

Not over sharing a six pack of beer,,,,think about it your not frank from sharing Hugh
@MrRobertmarvin11 жыл бұрын
I never understud on why is was bad for Calvin and his coursing to. Share a six pack of beer...why is that bad ?a drunk driver killed Calvin ,,it was the drunk drivers fault,, not the six pack of beer Calvin shared with his cousin,
@MrRobertmarvin10 жыл бұрын
How the hell can any two people get drunk off only one six pack of beer,,,that's right it wasn't the six pack of beers fault
@doughesson10 жыл бұрын
You must not have swiped a beer from your old man when you were 13 or so.We'd pass one beer around & it would hit our young systems harder than it does now at 49.
@sammyp421610 жыл бұрын
If you watch only one of them drinks the beer. So it's one guy getting drunk off a six pack.
