Baytown is an industrial town. It will never be anything more. I've lived in Baytown my entire life and work in the petrochemical industry. When I retire, I'm moving out. It's getting too crowded.

Very true however, there is plenty of space for anybody who is business minded because everybody here who works in the petrochemical industry still needs to be entertained and fed

One major con not only about Baytown but the greater Houston area is HURRICANES. When I decided to move back to Texas. Because of hurricanes, I took Baytown and the Houston area off the list. Sure enough, about 6-months after moving from San Diego to San Antonio, Hurricane Harvey hit the area. Also, how can a city the size of Baytown not have a Mall? I grew up in Baytown but the Marine Corps took me away many many years ago. When I can, I always return for a visit even though I don't have family there anymore. The city has “plans” for an open air shopping center like what they did with bay brook mall but you know how that goes. As for the hurricanes it’s almost a way of life now down here ever 5-10 years we get hit with a bad one, I’ve lived through 2 in my lifetime that I can remember. Thanks for your service!

Baytown is so bland. Who are the city leaders here and why do they neglect the areas in Baytown???? It's too much land here for it not to be fully developed. Everything on Garth Road is an eye-sore. Even the restaurants are outdated. Many of them need to be remodeled correctly, not halfway. Baytown doesn't have bookstores. I have to drive to Pasadena to go to a Barnes and Noble. That's ridiculous. Exxon Mobile is here and the city gets a lot of money from them so I don't know why there are no major landmarks here for residents. Too much land and homes are being built here. No mall for Baytown residents. Baytown needs a new mayor he needs to be voted out. get all the old people out of the office and bring in new an innovative ideas. All Baytown has to offer is parks and a water park which are not the best. The Target on Garth needs to be remodeled. Baytown has so much potential but is lacking in innovation for the City of Baytown compared to other areas such as Spring, Humble, Katy, Pearland.

Baytown is mainly refinery works that pull 7-12s this area was for strictly making money for the longest. However that is slowly changing for example the historic district

@@LivingEastOfHouston lol! And why would I do that? To take a tour of a run down city with refineries everywhere, air quality so awful you might get cancer in 19 minutes and absolutely nothing to do? I think I’ll keep chilling in The Woodlands. You did a nice job on the video though, but you and I both know Baytown is one of the least desirable areas in Houston. Precisely why it costs so little to live there.
