Just one more episode until this chapter of the Baywatch Saga is over. We need an embarrassing 30-years-later sequel series of Baywatch Nights, bringing back all of the original actors. They could be visibly embarrassed that the world wasn't a raging inferno in the late 90s like they thought it would be.
@guaposneeze19 күн бұрын
This absolutely should have been the Baywatch movie. Do the Baywatch branding, everybody is expecting hot babes running on the beach. Stick somebody in a swim suit for the trailer. Then the actual movie is just post apocalyptic horror set near the Santa Monica beach 20 years after the collapse of human civilization. That's how you use an IP.
And it should be revealed that Teague was actually Al Gore in disguise... which explains why all of the late 90s doomsday prophecy stuff just kinda didn't happen... and why he's been sulking in a corner by himself somewhere for the last few decades.

Gotta love how this episode of Nights shows how this show knows less about tarot cards than The Simpsons since he Death card doesn't actual death. Upright, it means the end of cycle, beginnings, change, or metamorphosis while inverted means fear of change, holding on, stagnation, or decay. Also, since we know there are episodes of Baywatch after 1999, that means one of two things happened. Either what Mitch and Ryan saw in that past episode was An AlTeRnAtIvE uNivErSe... or Camp Baywatch was a success that averted the apocalypse.
@lotus-prince19 күн бұрын
My favorite subversion of this was in the video game "The Quarry." "Death takes many forms... it could mean change, transition, transformation often interpreted as a beacon for the hopeful. In your case, it just means death."

My theory is they filmed part of the episode, completely rewrote it, started filming the new version, and then ran out of time to finish it, so they just edited it together with what they had from the original footage.
@edwardhoptrough993317 күн бұрын
My theory, which mostly aligns with your own one, is that this episode began as simply ‘radioactive slug monster and zombies on a ship’ with some weak environmental messaging as the whole thing. Then they read it and realised that it was both entirely derivative of previous episodes they’ve already done, and painfully boring ship/warehouse wandering heavy. So they rewrote it in haste with the whole spirit thing to mix things up, and were so checked out they didn’t care to create any further versions even with it now being an indecipherable mess.

When I made the terrible mistake of binge-watching "Baywatch Nights" (because I love "Baywatching" and "Baywatching Nights" and stupidly _thought_ I wanted to "experience" the actual show for "the full context"), I was almost in physical pain at this point of season two. If we didn't know for certain, that nobody who was in charge of the writing, production, etc. gave a toss anymore in season two, it's almost as if they made a concerted, massive, unbelievably dedicated effort to bring the worst season of any TV show ever into existence. Just to prove a point... or something.
