Nouman Ali Khan - Official - Bayyinah

Күн бұрын

This khutbah was given at Islamic Center of Southlake on 7/8/2016.
The consequences of rampant injustice in a society are dire. Nouman Ali Khan points out in his discussion of ayat from Surat An-Nisaa and Al-Ma’eda that such injustice perpetuates the cycle of death and leads to more hatred, violence, crime and tension. On the contrary, as Allah describes, when just retribution is implemented without bias or double standards stemming from unrestricted love or hate, life happens. These are universal principles that appeal to the whole of humanity not just Muslims.

One of the most compelling lectures I have heard in a long long time. Indeed I wish all of humanity would listen to these words and apply it in our lives. To do justice in all parts of our lives, a reminder to myself first.

megapad100 I saw in the news that you have your own chapter of Black Lives Matter and I was really excited to see it and hear all of the positivity coming from our cuzins. In fact I have several blood cuzins who are Londoners. Lol. Unfortunately many non-black muslims in the USA remain silent and invisible whenever issues regarding Black people come up. Its as if they don't realise that they too can be subjected to the same brutality no matter how much money they make or how law abiding they are. They only seem to remember injustices against foreign muslims and non- black muslims in the US. Its sad really. But yeah, spread the word nearly 40% of muslims in the US are BLACK!

Too much negativity on facebook. Rather watch this here on KZbin. Yes, Justice begins with our personal lives and within our families and spreads outwards. I got chills when he said how wives or husbands can do wrong by each other by putting their parents ahead of their spouse. I know this first hand. We have to show respect and honor to our parents but sometimes it is like they become" god like" figures. And the adult child can never say no to "Mommy" because mom is old and can die of an heart attack on the spot... lol. The parents influence the relationship so much they strangled it, That no matter how much original love was there it just can't breath. Just sickens me how many families ruined by egos and injustice between family members. Everyone is to blame. Either we do the injustice or we are silent to it . May Allah protect the first unit of society our families. We should all do a self evaluation on where we could improve on this area of justice.

In America there is a crime victim compensation program for if such a tragedy falls upon you. As for the family being able to decide whether the murdered just get the death penalty or not, I feel because of their bias they cannot make a rational decision. It will be purely based on emotion. And would the death of the person really bring them comfort? NAK talks about the interviews with victims family when the murderer comes out after x number of years, but what about the victims families who say the death penalty brought no consolation? Killing the murder won't bring your loved one back. It's a terrible thing to have happened, but I don't know if the death penalty is viable in society today. I'd think having to live knowing you've murdered someone is a much greater punishment than the death penalty. Maybe you can argue well to do murderers get in nice jails or serve shorter sentences, but then we can talk about those being society problems, not that we should just have them be killed because then they won't have an opportunity to live comfortably in prison.

+Ashraf Ahmed I didn't mean to insult him or something but when I noticed this, I went through the comments and I noticed how nobody has mentioned it because Ustadh Khan has gone upto the level of idealization that people will copy him no matter what he'll do. like even if he would wear a blue shirt to a khutbah some of us would wear Blue too just because he wore it. so I thought of pointing out for those of us who have blindly idealised that amongst all the things he does right , don't copy this one thing he is doing . that's it. I'm not backbiting or sending hate on him or anything.

What has happened is that he is following the Quran and Sunnah. How can he tell us to obey Allah Azzawajal when his face is clean as a woman's? The beard is the jijab of the man. Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said, grow the beard and trim the moustache. It's not just the sunnah, it's mandatory for the man who is able to grow it. May. Allah Azzawajal forgive us our sins and guide us to the straight way. May Allah Azzawajal grant us good in this life and the next and protect us from the blazing fire. Ameen.
