Alhamdulillah, I have had the honour of sitting in Hazrat Mufti Taqi Usmani Sahabs gatherings and speeches. One of the greatest scholars of this time. Arabs who do not take anyone else to be their leader, take religious rulings and advice from Hazrat Mufti Sahab. That on its own speaks volumes about Mufti Sahab's knowledge and wisdom that Allah SWT has bestowed upon him.

Great to see Paul bring a scholar that comes from a tradition of political theology that emerged in the wake of British Colonial India. Two very important politcal theologies emerged when the Mughals lost their polical sovereignty in India and these competing theologies are to this day shaping identities annd Muslimness in the region. Such a fascinating video. our aslaaf have always held the view that appointing a khalifah (caliph) is one the main obligations of a muslim society. Not something that's to be taken lightly. The fact that British were so much against the weak ottoman empire is proof enough. Muslims have been divided for so long and it's no wonder since there's is no one uniting them there has been unimaginable suffering.

In this day and age we are confronted with daunting challenges of climate change, unguided technological disruptions, and social crises (income inequality and family breakdown etc) which requires Islam as a genuine solution as it holds man accountable for using property and power. I did Law university, in Jurisprudance class, in covering the development of legal theory and law...it covers Aristotle, Socrates, Austin, Lock, Heart etc but no mention of alternative that was present for 1400yrs upto today... I just learnt that present legal system foundation was shaky and hardly there, so all these laws and rules was coming from here and there with no sound source or foundation or authority...

I'm sorry brother! but if Allah swt love good muslims and who told you which muslim he does love ? this is the knowledge of the unseen. you don't have to go to his grave and seek help from him (some even do tawaf and dance and sing)it's shirk. Use ur brain for a second u will realize it. Quran is clear about that and Sunnah too. I know in pakistan it has become a norme.. Dead people doesn't benefit you or harm you. This is jahiliya brother. The prophet cursed people who do that. That's not from islam brother, it's christians and jews who make saints and go to dead people to get barakah and rizq.
