I think the timeline, "2 years after departing" is significant. Fun Fact of the day: Iftikhar Ad Dawla translates to "Pride of the nation". Cyril Normans as a people descended from franks (germans), gauls (french) and vikings (scandinavians) soo they weren’t really french either, they were a mix between germanic people , french people and scandinavian people. Also, going way back, charlemagne was a german, born in Aachen. But isn’t that the point? Europeans are so mixed in our heritage that we’re all brothers, and we should act like it.

@Ricardo VS So why french family name sounds not German (Martin, Dupont, Dupuis, Dubois, Leroux, Giroud...) German and French people doesn't looks physically similar. Some german tribes set up in France in the past but doesn't replace the original people who are Celts/Latin. The only french from German ethnicity are from east of France (Alsace/Moselle) thats why Germany Nazy annexed this territory according to their pan-germanism policy.
