James is actually my uncle(gruncle really), he's nice, really nice, just a happy old man, he's really bummed he can't go out and play with the rest of the band, he practices really hard for hours a day, I would actually be in foster care if him and his wife didn't take me in!

I was in Bosnia when BB King came to entertain the troops. I was the Officer in Charge of his PSD (personal security detail). He came to Eagle Base and gave an almost 4 hour show. He cmae out, just put it all out on the stage for an hour and a half, then had to take a break and lay down on the floor on an Army sleeping mat to stretch his back and rest. He got up and went to the stage and just beat hell out of that guitar until I thought it would break or melt, and performed for almost 2 hours. The man said repeatedly, he admired, and loved, the US Army soldiers for what they did. His band was more tired than he was when it was over!!! The man was an American Treasure folks! For this old dog face soldier, and a jazz trumpet player, I love the man. Hell of an American folks! A total pro. A total musician, and Patriot. And to shred this Ray Price classic, for a boy from Texas? Amazingly wonderful, thoughtful. He added it in the second half of the show at my request. What a human.

B. B. King should be taught in all academies of music. He's most similar to Louis Armstrong--majestic, magnificent, inevitable singing and playing.

Richard B. Davis oh, he could - in his radio days as the PepTiCon King he had to as there were no other musicians in the studio - but he didnt have the feel for rhythm guitar that others had and chose not to let it interfere with his soloing. If you study his chord technique you'll find it's much like his leads - if it sounded good to him he played it, and rhythm guitar is more structured.
