I heard a story that early in BB King's career he was playing in a club that caught fire. Everyone ran out of the building, but he ran back in to get his guitar he called "Lucille". Someone thought he was running back in for a woman named Lucille, but when they were told it was his guitar, they said "that must be one hell of a guitar!"

That's the blues. The blues makes you feel so good. I saw him perform twice when he was in his 80's. He was unable to stand and perform, but he sat in a chair and told stories, played Lucille and sang his somgs. I have never seen a performer that was genuinely having the time of his life on that stage. He even said that he was going to play the blues until the day he died. I'm glad I got to see him before he died.

BB King is about my favourite guitarist. Such a beautiful tone. He doesn’t have to play fast or flashy, you see his skill. I could listen to him all day.

He was the greatest bluesman on the guitar. Play with the best band in heaven, BB.

I've seen BB King more than any other band because he was a hero to so many rockers that they took him on tour with them. Hardest working man in the blues.

How blue can you get- is the name of the song you just reacted to. B.B.(Blue Boy) King has probably 50 years worth of recordings. Starting in the early 60's Every day I have the blues, live Sweet Angel, live The thrill is gone Hummingbird

I saw him in a nightclub in 1977 and he asked for requests and he played this song for me. I still get chills when i hear it. Sweet Sixteen is another song you should try.

That is what you call making your guitar "sang" ... his guitar was aptly named "Lucille"!

You can't miss with BB King. This was a great performance on many levels. Worth noting that Sing Sing is a maximum-security prison in Ossining, New York and has been In use since 1826. When the electric chair came on the scene in 1891, Sing Sing became notorious for its executions. Almost all executions in the state were carried out at Sing Sing until 1963 (a total of 614.} Still a maximum-security prison to this day. A dark history. A brave, heart-felt, compassionate concert.

B.B. is 'the blues'. His sound is unmistakable. He influenced so many others. I saw him open for Clapton and come back out for Eric's encore. Magical! ☮🤎🎶

If you like the Blues, watch the documentary, "Lightening in The Bottle", They brought together 50 of the greatest blues performers for a concert at Radio City Music Hall. It tells the history of the Blues. It finishes with BB King and Bonnie Raitt.
