Im 34 and can go back to MJ beating Portland in the finals. So I've seen the bulk of Championship MJ. He was definitely amazing man. Hands down. I've seen Brons career in it's entirety. I can come up with a bunch of statistical reasons why MJ is better, but in the end what I always start with is the caliber of players Lebron has had is so much better than MJ. Wade, Bosh, Kyrie, Love, Davis, are all more impressive individual players than Pippen ever was. Pippen statistically was equivalent to an Antawn Jamison, although Jamison had more elite years. And ironically Jamison is one of the players on the Lebron teams that everyone says had no good players.

This is very true. LeBron is my favorite player but I've never liked watching those games down the stretch in his second stint in Cleveland where the offense would simply consist of LeBron dominating the ball while his team mates would just wait for him to try to score or wait until he threw it to them only when they got wide open which would took over half the shot clock to have manifest. Unless they're a perimeter all star very solid players will lose confidence playing that way as we seen in 2018.

Michael Jordan is the single greatest grower and fostered his sport more than ever in the history of professional athletes. This claim will never be substantiated, but I don't think it's too far of a stretch to say that more people on this planet know of, and or are fans of, and play basketball because of Michael Jordan than any other single reason that could be named. His level of fame made his sport better simply because he was alive to play it. No other professional athlete can make that claim with the possible exception of Muhammad Ali, but THAT is the caliber of person we're talking about here. Numbers and stats are what they are, but it's the intangible fact that Jordan simply exists to play basketball that makes him the greatest of all time.

After watching the last dance documentary, I realized something. I used to think Lebron only had an angle to be talked about in the conversation of being the GOAT, because he had more assists, rebounds and controlled more of team play, while Jordan was more of a pure scoring weapon. Lebron could get to the finals even with bums on his team, while Jordan when he retired, his team was still winning 55 games a year. Sounds good for Lebron doesn't it? Then we look into the behind the scenes. MJ wasn't just a team mate. He was a coach, a motivator, and a monster that would devour his team mates if they didn't bring their game and drive to practice. So much that when they are playing in the playoffs, the opponents don't seem that scary at all. MJ's team mates were good, BECAUSE of MJ. Even after he left, the team mates were still good. Lebron never had that kind of effect on his team. So if you ask me, for a single game who would I pick? I might lean a bit more to Lebron. But for a season, for a franchise, MJ all the way.

Duncan, Durant, Kawhi, Curry are all better players in their prime than anyone Jordan faced in the 90s (Magic was older and had a broken down team in the finals). The only guy who is close is Barkley.. heck, nowitzki is better playoff performer over the rest.. the league was watered down with Jordan facing teams with only 1-2 all NBA players followed by the league's expansion... As an offensive force, Jordan was better individually and more skilled at scoring, while LeBron is a monster at creating thescoring opportunities for the entire team. Defensively, Jordan was better pound for pound, but LeBron is just bigger, stronger, while being fast enough to hang with any point guard.. Jordan couldn't guard Durant or Leonard or the Greek freak.. hell, Giannis would put Jordan in the basket.. the 3/4/5s have more value positionally on defensive end.
