To see this play with Draymond opened my eyes why he is so invaluable. He so often uses this play to fake of the pass and then drive and kick or layup himself. Plays in realtime are hard to decypher sometimes, so this here makes it very transparent. When two players know each other as well as all of these pairs do, it is almost automatic and beauty in motion.

This action in the pinch post is one of the reasons why I like the Triangle Offense, as well as Horns, so much.

As a triangle coach, it was always our best action. And we used to start giggling when we realized the other team was gonna let us catch the ball at the elbow.. we knew it was over

Klay Struggles is all mental.. He is chasing his PRIME self.. Instead of just adapting to his NEW SELF, and take the easy ones first.. He still thinks he can be circus highlight Klay and rushes his shot selections. He instead needs to be more patient and LOGICAL KLAY.. Build up rhythm with SMART, tactical shot making.. Too many tough shot attempts his hurting the warriors.. Watch and pay attention the next time he plays and come back to this post..

Magic used to do this a lot with everyone from Kareem to AC to Byron. Doing it when he inbounded after the other team made a basket and he'd pick it back up with speed was one thing they'd do on their crazy show time runs where they'd turn the game going like 20-5 during a stretch

I remember when the defense use to elevate with the offense to block layups. I’m talking about the Jordan era when the defense wasnt castrated. Isaiah Thomas is right about how the league changed the rules to market the dunks for MJ. Thomas said that’s when Jordan started to win. Before the rules, Chicago couldn’t get out of the 1st round of the playoffs. I can’t imagine how brutal the game was during the Bill Russell Celtics era if the Jordan 90s were handicapped to allow more offense.
@arguseyed9982 Жыл бұрын
And thats when MJ developed his jumper?
@yahozak Жыл бұрын
If the defender could get up high and strong enough to block a dunker's ball cleanly, sure, fans love such highlights as much as a dunker would slam it in someone's face. But the Bad Boy Pistons literally bodyslammed MJ to the ground repeatedly - i.e. dirty plays. I'd hardly call that "changing the rules to market dunks". There's a fair balance that should be implemented.

This is the most basic fundamental wall pass action from soccer, just with more control (because you're using your hands, duh). It's how you accomplish all kinds of feats to create a scoring chance in soccer, when the odds can be something like 3 on 5 or 4 on 7 for an outnumbered offense. Discovering good wall passing was when me and my bro started really enjoying pick up soccer. I really hope it becomes more prominent in the NBA, as you're hoping Coach Nick!

Why are handoffs better than regular pnr for opening up shots?
@lawbinson Жыл бұрын
The initiator gets more of a running start at it, the screener/passer can take it, and there is less ball handling skill required, and you can initiate it in more ways. It also sets the initiator up for a catch and shoot opportunity. Fewer are as good at shooting off the dribble. You can even first do a handoff, then into a PnR. Or chain Handoffs.
