I talked about that exact play on my video, anthony edwards isn't forcing Nikola Jokic towards the double team and is letting him spin off him away from the double. That is awful coaching by minnesota, just like there absolutely horrific pick and roll defense in the 2nd half which I showed time and time and time again. I just feel completely defeated when nobody else says anything and allows these god awful coaches and schemes to get away with it and I am the only person talking about this. You showed one of the pick and rolls where Jokic had an easy floater right at the rim off of disgusting drop coverage and also if Aaron Gordon cut on that play he would have been wide open for a lob also. Like how is this ok? How does nobody say or do anything about this ever?

Jokic's mastery can be seen in that crucial play at 111 - 104 with only 85 seconds left. He could have attacked the rim right away; after all, he had Ant on him. But, he first focused on running the clock down & attacked with 7 seconds left on the clock. Pulls off a gorgeous move, shooting off his right leg, which caused Ant to run into him. Should have been an AND-1. Look how hard Ant body checks him, while he is shooting the ball. That was an ENORMOUSLY important bucket!
@Toracubed1
@Toracubed1 14 күн бұрын
The Nuggets team IQ especially Jokic's is extremly high. Watch when they have the lead at the end of games and how they always piddle around with getting the ball inbounds. They will have the ref check the ball then drop the ball in play and no one touches it until necessary. I bet they take away close to 1-2 minutes of game clock. It's the little things that can make a huge difference.

This is what irks me about Minnesota's defense, as they are prided on being this great defensive team but seems to have errors often communicating and recognising match ups. The only thing they do is ball pressure with big wings. They got size near the basket but not enough IQ down there,and the nuggets are taking advantage.
@dumbassdude8372

Ofcourse they would have problems in communication it's their second year together. What they need is continuity and maybe they can fix their issues next season and win. This year their already a title competitor how about the next 4 years?

Biggest change in nuggets play is the constant extreme illegal screen from jokic, he either keeps walking or really moves his hip out to block defender chasing, its been getting jamal murray a lot more open and opening the roll fo himself. Needs to start getting called, although the reffing all series has been atrocious to begin with, so i doubt it
