They (AAC blocks) vary 300-800 kg/m3. Not something you want to use for any real load-bearing applications. Much weaker than regular breeze-block / hollowblocks. It can obviously bear some load, but should not be used for anything critical in that regard. You would be best served building columns with the hollowblocks, putting in rebar, linking columns horizontally with horizontal beams, pouring concrete into your hollowblocks to form the column to foundation, then use AAC blocks to fill in the wallspace areas, this is actually excellent for more earthquake-prone areas. They will need to be rendered or painted in some way as they are porous and cannot be directly exposed to the elements without treatment, unlike cement or concrete. Building out the walls with AAC is super-fast, as you can see a man can lift a single block without too much effort, and they are easily cut to size. Thin-based mortar should be used to adhere them together etc. AAC is also an excellent insulator which helps cut cooling/heating bills, but you'd need to isolate the concrete beams a bit somehow from their mass, could probably some sort of polymer-based Sikaflex or similar where they contact breeze-block or cement/concrete for thermal separation. I'm not an actual building engineer, but open to correction on that. But this is how I would go about it. You could actually build huge structures this way like hotels. etc.

Tofu concrete is dangerous if used for structural buildings. Magor buildings and towns are falling apart in China, and schools in the UK have been closed due to its use. It has zero in common with Roman Concrete.

Actually, they are fairly strong and have great insulation properties but concrete blocks would be denser and heavier but much stronger albeit it not as good at insulation against the elements.

@@ExtrovertedCenobiteWell, there's another factor. If the structure is lighter, the force of gravity is going to weigh less on it and lessen the load. The romans would mix clay pots into their concrete mix to create air bubbles to lighten the overall structure. Technically this concrete is not as strong, but the nature of the material lessens the need for strength.

Also the Romans used a special type of Volcanic ash that is available in certain locations and didn't use rebar which is great at making the concrete structure much stronger but over type tend to rust and thereby weaken the structure. I am going to experiment with making these things this weekend so wish me luck. I am going to make stone veneer for all sorts of projects and people building eventually. I am putting a lot of effort into making a process, formulating a "recipe" for the blocks, perfecting the texture and coloring of the blocks and different styles I am going to offer, casting the shapes and making many molds and finding the right materials to use with all the other materials. And generally finding out what shapes I want to offer, what applications they would be used for , how the install would go and what materials to install with, and just simplifying four different products that I can offer to people and demonstrate the products that I make and how strong they can be and how valuable they are and how much time they will last and how long it takes me to make them and so on. I have to go buy about $150 in materials and foam and foam boards and random wood and 5 different epoxies and like 10 different glues and 5 different paints and another 6 different liquid membranes and 3 different liquid adhesives and fiberglass resin, hardener, and cloth plus the bags of cement, Portland, concrete, and even some peddles and random marble chip rock and lava rock and also a bag of large river rocks and a bag of the extra large river rocks that are like the size of your fist and $15 a bag. I think I have some really cool ideas on how to make some amazing stuff and if I can perfect it over the next 6 months I will be able to sell it for sure but my goal would be to open up shop and make blocks, veneer, backsplash, accent wall materials, and then maybe some blocks for certain applications like mailboxes or shorter columns with a light on them for driveways and gardens and also faux stone arches that have lighting on them, and faux beams for vaulted ceilings or just ceilings that the builder or home owner doesn't have the budget to put real beams in or the need. I can make a kit with the install brackets and hardware and make it clip in and out with a tab you can engage or disengage with a small tool included with the kit. Also would make other cool things too for gardens and ponds and decks/outdoor areas and pools and hot tubs.

@@jason618 It wasnt the shape but the adhesive, it didnt stick, from memory I think they used about 4 or 5 different ones until they found one, the final one looked like glue. But the bricks just dont hold up the stress so they crack, they have great passive energy qualities and are light weight.

No generator needed It just a normal concrete batch Which you replace the volume of aggregate with chopped up styrofoam The only thing to watch and adjust is the amount of cement . Finer styro chips will have more surface area than large agregate so you will need a bit more cement kind of like making concrete with all sand . I poured walls with it. The nice part is you are insulating the structure at the same time as pouring it i was up to over 50 % styrofoam . Which was free . Shredded to packing popcorn size and smaller . If you are worried about strength make your walls thicker and you have even more insulation from the heat and or cold outside . Reduces heating and cooling costs !!
