Indeed, a beautifully, rich embodiment of sacred tradition with music. I regret I never visited Carlisle when I toured often the UK some the years back.

I have not long returned from a trip to Carlisle, and I can only say that the cathedral was one of the main things I will recall from my stay there. It is a wonderful building, full of character and with many interesting objects, from a full set of misericords, to painted medieval panels, to 15th century wooden screens as well asa beautiful east window and spectacular baldacchino. I could go, but you get the point! If you get the chance, please don't miss it.
