Here's a BBC1 globe from the early 1970's which I prepared earlier...
I've been trying to find a high quality globe from this period but had to resort to several hours of technical jiggery pokery with my Macbook Pro running DaVinci Resolve 12.5 and ScreenFlow 6.1.
I had to download the best version I could find from KZbin, recreate the dividing line under the globe as well as the 'BBC 1 COLOUR' logo blow the line. But first I reframed and straightened it out a bit. Then I ran it through DaVinci Resolve for frame interpolation to 60fps to get the original video look, and also to do a rough recolour and set the chroma and luminance levels. Then I upscaled to 720p and replaced all the colour, before editing the original 35 second KZbin clip to just over 2 minutes plus fades in and out.
Actually, it was slightly more complicated than that, but it looks fairly good, I think??? I'd like a better clean recording though if anyone can point me there.
This footage is used in fair use and purely to inform, entertain and make those of us who grew up in Britain in the 1970's feel a warm sense of nostalgia!
