Suriname was bought by the Swedes who sold it to the English who lost it or sold it to the Dutch. One of those two versions. Surinam was discovered by an English man. It's heritage isn't only Dutch, but also English, French, Portuguese, west african, indiginous and Asian.

i am from suriname and i find that this gives people a wrong view of suriname. They focused on the tropical forest but not the civilized part in north.
