First honest thing on BBC since they issued on the ticker-tape under the broadcast the statement "Man Utd are rubbish" a few years ago, (which they were and to be quite frank still are) so three cheers to the BBC for good honest reporting albeit very rarely. As for her 'mistake' probably it was. but that is EXACTLY what the BBC think of the British public, so she made a mistake ... perhaps .... but journalists and backroom staff are now cheering and I am sure Ms Mariam Al Moshiri will be voted "Employee of the Month" and probably get a bonus.

They're doing a pretty good job of closing themselves down. In 2022 they lost an average of £11 million per month in revenue due to people not renewing TV licences. I hope GB News is ready to report on the state of this year's revenue.. It'll be down more than £11 mill per month I'm sure!!

I really don't see how this was interpreted as being a gesture toward the audience. The BBC has its issues, but when I saw this I wondered if she was looking at the director, the producer, or one of the tech crew. You really think this does not go on among a group of people working under the pressure of deadlines and sometimes cranky technology in broadcast? Unfortunately, the presenter gets caught on camera when you can bet many middle fingers fly regularly between the studio and control room. GBNews, I like a lot of what you are doing, but lay off the cheap shots.
