If the BBC is the 'glue that holds Britain together', then why are so many people switching to Amazon Prime, Neflix, Disney Plus, Sky TV, and a boat-load of other packages where you don't require a TV licence, and can watch nearly 90% of the stuff you would get from regular TV, plus a bunch of other stuff. - That doesn't sound like very good glue to me.

Haven't watched TV since I cancelled my TV licence in March 2023, not missed at all. Changed my TV habits to not relying on the TV being there, spending more time doing other things such as learning to play the guitar more, watching interesting facts, news, stories on You Tube, Listening more to classical music and relaxing, and of course Amazon, Netflix etc. There is also free streaming sites for free TV. So I won't be paying the licence in the near future.

The wording there is quite incorrect. Nobody to this day has went to prison, or been convicted for not paying the licence fee. They were imprisoned for not paying court fines after willingly handing over their details, and letting complete strangers in their homes. The court writs have the power of legislature behind them, not the no payment of the fee.

What is this false notion that everyone is forced to pay the licence fee. I loved the BBC back in the day and thought it, and I was proud that the BBC was independent. however, a few years ago I felt it became opinionated and bias, therefore I made a conscious decision not to watch any TV live or not for almost 3 years now. I now recieved, all my entrainment via the internet these days.

Hi, I have not watch TV for years. As I only use the TV for the Kindle Fire stick. And watch programs on that. But I have got to have a TV license. Because its got the BBC TV and Radio stations on it through freeview. Now if we could get rid of the BBC TV and radio stations. But still have the Freeview. I would not need a TV license. But I have heard the TV license is for all the TV and raido stations. So why is the BBC keeping all the money for thenselves then.

BBC studios make most of the new programmes. They sell the shows that the licence payers have paid for. They show adverts. BBC Studios make over 2 billion pounds a year. So how can they be short of money. It has to be scrapped.
