I rode bike 11 miles at 11 years old to see the first 3 (and by far best) bond movies (w/o parents' knowledge). I'm as nostalgic as anyone. These were always fun. That said, it must be admitted (at 68) that there's a lot that's really dumb about this story (and this radio production). Still listening to them all, anyway. :-)

I love the Bond Series.... all things Bond. However... the books did make me view the films are cardboard comics into relationship to Fleming himself. Most certainly should, all the candid moments of Bond are what makes these stories.... a Television show would give us an opportunity to slow down stop relying on the "shaken not stirred" and cheekie jokes. My favorite element of this novel (unsure if it's in this adaptation) is Bond in the office on the graveyard shift reading over a desk lamp.

@@2msvalkyrie529 They’re playing two completely different characters. To be so dismissive is a bit short-sided, and saying, basically, at least he’s pretty is just really condescending. He’s an incredible actor in his own right. His portrayal of Captain Flint in Black Sails is possibly the best long-form acting I’ve ever seen. He would’ve made a brilliant Bond, had he not played Graves.
