Just the individual LW schedule is being switch off, 198KHz is staying and will be the same as the FM schedule.

(The message currently being played on Radio 4 Long Wave (LW) forms part of a campaign to let listeners know that Radio 4 LW will no longer have a “separate schedule” from March 2024. ) By March 2024, there will be just one version of Radio 4, regardless of the platform you are listening on. Here is where you can find these programmes: The Daily Service - Radio 4 Extra Yesterday in Parliament (longer version) - Radio 4 Extra Test Match Special - Radio 5 Live Sports Extra The Shipping Forecast will change to being broadcast twice a day on Radio 4 on weekdays and three times a day on weekends. Internet radio has taken over yes you miss the fun of beimg able to get it on longwave even in Ireland we can listen to radio 4 but Internet has a more studio quality and i can be in Ireland or US or Australia can get radio 4 on Internet no worrys of reception less money and most radio stations streaming encorders are software or hardware at the studio so no paying money for sites sad to see it go but will still listen online radio uk app ❤

No big loss as I will still be able to receive the Shipping Forecast on MW, FM and DAB. I used to listen to RTE Radio One on longwave quite a lot shame it has closed too
