In 1974 I was in my first year of teaching and I planned to do Zigger Zagger. A parent wrote to me to complain. The final paragraph read, “Are not the national television networks doing enough to lower the standards of what we once knew as dramatic art without our children being coached in the decline by yourself?”

I vaguely remember watching this when I was a little child in the 1970s. I didn't like the crowd shouting "Zigger Zagger" and thought it was very odd that what was meant to be outside (a football terrace) was actually in a studio. Anyway, I have been searching for this for years to see it again, so I am very pleased that you have it. It's actually a very good production and has quite an impressive line-up of character actors of the day. Once again, many thanks

The very first message on screen talks about being invited to a meeting under one of the stands at "City's" ground. It's not a studio the fans are in, it's in the concourse under the stand.

@@chloewilliams1112 The programme was set in a concourse but was made in a television studio. Television programmes are often made in television sfudios. I meant that it was so jarringly obvious that it was recorded indoors but pretending (unconvincingly) to be outdoors

I used to like those ‘Scene’ dramas that used to be broadcast on the school tv time.

I would never have recognised him, if you hadn't pointed him out.

Ironic that he should be in a play where another character is called "Uncle Albert". Uncle Albert of course also being the name of the character that replaced Lennard Pearce's character, grandad following his demise in OFAH.

This is pretty odd fare. I’m not entirely sure what I’m meant to be learning. It’s pretty fascinating to see the arguments of 70s society being portrayed in this manner

Edna is played by Cheryl Murray who went on a few years later to play Suzie Birchall in Coronation Street. She rented a room in Elsie Tanner's house and was best friends with her fellow lodger there, Gail Potter played by Helen Worth who went on to become Gail Tilsley, Gail Platt, Gail Hillman, Gail McIntyre and finally Gail Rodwell. Suzie Birchall meanwhile was finally banished from Weatherfield when she tried to seduce her friend Gail's first husband Brian Tilsley!
