Notice how BBC One is off air before 12.15am most nights of the week back then, to avoid the overtime money coming into force from 12.15am onward.

Odd that John Dunn had a midday show at this point. Perhaps he was sitting in for Pete Murray? He is so synonymous with either Breakfast Special (1967-72) or the R2 early evening/Drivetime slot in the 80s and 90s.

I have looked at the schedules for the autumn, and John Dunn occupies the midday show on Radio 2 right throughout the remainder of 1981, so maybe this was a little change made to Radio 2.
