One comic genius talks about another. How I miss them both. Comedy will never be the same without them. We need more Dodds and Dawsons in this world. We need laughter and happiness to divert us from the mundane commonality, problems, and boredom of everyday life, and to buck up our spirits. We need less smut and bad language. We need good clean comedy that can be considered family entertainment from talented comedians. We need comic heros. There are far too few today. Ken Dodd and Les Dawson earned the title comic hero in spades. Loved by a broad spectrum of society, even the Queen, they are now up there with the angels, and they are in stitches. Thank goodness that I have known their comedy in my lifetime. The times I have rolled and cried with laughter. RIP Ken and Les. It was a privilege to have experienced the happiness and joy you gave us all. Keep them laughing in Heaven. Thank you for all the happiness and joy you gave us all down here. Never forgotten. Legends for all time.

RIP Les, you didn’t realise how funny and hilarious you were. A true entertainer. The piano playing was a stroke of genius. Thanks for the true laughs. 😊

LOVE LOVE LOVE Les Dawson, my great uncle Don was his floor manager on Sez Les and could often be seen dragging him off when one of his monologues went on too long. Les died when I was 15 and I never got to meet him despite my family connections to him, and that will always be one of my biggest regrets.

I was 12 when he died, but he left a lasting impression and will never be forgotten. I never saw Ken Dodd either as kept saying ill see him next year and that will always be one of my biggest regrets. Two Classic comedians we shall never see the likes of again.

There simply are no comedians like this left anymore. They just knew instinctively how to make people laugh. The likes of Les Dawson, Tommy Cooper, Morecambe & Wise, The two Ronnies, Frank Carson....they just don't exist anymore. The closest thing we have today in my opinion is Lee Mack. Their timing was supreme, and their wit was unrivalled. Comedy today just isn't the same without them.

I could hear this annoying noise all through the Favourite Things interview. I eventually realised that it was Les' jokes whirling over Roy's head. 🙄
