I love it when a working-class bloke like Del-Boy gets even with a conniving posh-bird like Miranda 😁

I guess that Del's "Fancy a curry" chat up line didn't work out. Still one of the best endings of any episode

Juliet Hammond was deliciously evil in this scene. Well played!

Del was a bit of a plonker in this episode, but it’s one of the best examples of him using his working class roots to get the better of a snob.

nah, i think Del knew she was a wrongun when she got interested in that painting

@user-tm4vf1wr3q spot on, Del is not very intelligent but I have a feeling that because the painting was stolen Miranda's desire to have it wad the perfect way to get rid of it, remember he could not sell it himself. Also Miranda and her parents are not just guilty of handling stolen property but also fraud by signing a patently false affadavit.

Del was the winner in the end! She clearly underestimated Del Boy in this episode.. best programme ever!!

My father in law bought a violin off a Yorkshire man when he worked down the pit ,instead of fighting in the second world war as a bevin boy ,it had Stradivarius wrote on it on the inside ,him and his son went to Christie's in London in the early 80s to get it valued ,it wasn't a strad said the valuer but said it was a good German violin and was worth between one and two hundred pounds ,they brought it home
@HonkyReduction-b2g11 ай бұрын
How much did he pay the Yorkshire man?
@MARKETMAN678911 ай бұрын
@@HonkyReduction-b2g only a few pounds from what I remember ,it was in the forties when the war was on ,,he has died but his son who is 70 still has it ,they had a good time when they went to have it valued , i thunk the pit was in sheffield where he worked with the miner who he bought it off , The miner wanted some beer money ,

He didn't get swindled at all, did the bbc staff who wrote this headline actually understand Was a stolen painting by there gran, so they knew it couldn't be sold, miranda conned del boy, and got her family to swear it had been in there possession many years This meant nod at auction would be uncovered as stolen and no links to del boy family, only miranda family will lose out

It wasn't the police examining the painting at the end but art experts who knew it was a stolen artwork - and Miranda knew she would be deep in the smelly stuff.

So the painting is not worth anything?
@andycross984010 ай бұрын
Essentially no! She is auctioning stolen goods and if anyone is looking for it....namely the police, she would get arrested.
@johnniethepom754510 ай бұрын
The painting is worth however much someone is prepared to pay on auction day . The sting in the tail is that the lady has forged the provenance of the painting and claimed it's been in her family for generations . So if Delboy's nan nicked it, then one is safe to assume it was stolen less than 50 years before it sale . So Miss posh bird has painted herself into a corner . Either she or one of her family bought the stolen painting or stole it themselves . Such behaviour would do one's reputation no good at all and would not be forgotten in the antiques trade .
