They should have a tall cat tree with a little house on top so the cat feels safe and can escape to when kids won’t leave it alone.

We have two wonderful rescue cats. Brother and sister. Pip & Belle. Pip's a huge male cat and is scared of absolutely everything and spends almost 99% of his time asleep. Belle's a frail little female cat that doesn't take shit from anybody or any of the other local cats. She gives me gentle face taps at night but hisses and growls like fury to the cat next door!

My family and I once found two stray female gray tabby kittens close to my house in 2021 and 2023, one a few months old already raised by her cat mother and siblings who we named FireStar after the cat character from Warriors and another seperated from her mom and siblings only a few weeks old that reminded us of Chi from Chi's Sweet Home, we could not keep Firestar and Bro not because we had a dog, a standard poodle named Otto (Since he usually gets along just fine with cats.) but because my mom and sister had cat allergies so we gave Firestar and Bro to Whiskers and gave them wonderful new homes.

Did you know dogs and cats eat about 29% as many calories as the human populations that sustain their existence? Considering Agriculture has the largest carbon footprint of any other human activity by a healthy majority, it might behoove us to reconsider the "need" for such a population of sentient creatures that exist purely to consume resources and act as slaves that provide joy and pleasure unwillingly and unknowingly as creatures trapped in a reality we fashion out of imagination.

The "need"? They've existed naturally in the wild for millions of years, not just as "slaves" to humans, as you put. The world doesn't revolve around you, or humans for that matter. "Sentient creatures" can exist with or without humans.

Domestication is not slavery. It might have dubious origins and its own moral quandaries but it is not the same thing as slavery. And some animals need jobs in order to receive mental enrichment.
