Fun fact: the 1998 version of Godzilla started out as a marine iguana that was accidently exposed to radiation by a nuclear test in French Polynesia.

with the condition of my mental health I live like that for 27 years already.I guess marine iguana is my spirit animal.except the actual sun doesn't help me, my "sun" is my antidepressants kicking in(or don't, if I'm broke 🚬🗿)

I've seen a lot of imagery from the Natural World and the Sea Iguanas trips to the sea and back is one of the best. Geological evolution, biological evolution and daily trials of life all in one.

@@EdenNeedsAKZbinHandle most iguanas tails are detachable to get away from predators they have limited regeneration abilities so even if they can grow back it won’t be to the same length as before.

Galapagos marine iguanas can actually dive more than 70 feet (+20 meters. I ve seen them feeding at that depht by myself so many times

both are taken inspiration from Iguana and other marine reptiles, the way it swims and head and spikes features is simmiliar from those in both cannon Godzilla and Zilla

@@lwrider10andhisstuff52 yes, the heads changes in every era depending on increased technologies or budgets, but the signature straight tall Godzilla has always been the trademark unlike Zilla which look like a Jurassic Park dinosaurs, regardless of that, both took some inspiration from reptiles, notably iguanas, komodos, or even crocodile

Cute, no! But they do look majestic when they swim: like a pint-sized godzilla. I'd love to keep it a pet too, but alas, I know I cannot provide a swimming pool for it!

@@WeirdSatay Do NOT get a green iguana. They are very difficult to take care, have very specific diets, can grow up to 6', and are extremely aggressive. I once heard them described as "the meanest vegetarians you'll ever meet." Because of all this, most of them get put down... a vet survey found 98% not reaching their captive life expectancy due to poor husbandry ☹️ source: rescued a few over, have a 10yo male rescue now

@@samneal474I recommended it because I used to have one. most people are having trouble because they leave the iguanas alone in their small cage and they became very territorial. I remember reading posts about the problematic ones and are just perplexed because I've never seen that kind of behavior in mine. Turned out that mine had always been very socialized because my friends always hang out at my place so it loved being handled and I let it roam free on my 2nd floor on day time. It also helped that I live in the tropics. It was one of the most chill animal I've seen in my life. And yeah.. they do get huge. big as my entire arm. I guess a lot of people dont expect that when they first got it. Had mine from I was 6 til I was 23. Broke my heart to pieces when it left.
