Thanks very much! If possible, could you please elaborate on how to properly answer tag questions with negative adverbs? Every video I've watched and all the grammar books I have just give information on how to ask that type of questions. All short answers to them seem confusing to me. E.g. You hardly ever complete your homework on time, do you? - If the statement is true, should it be "Yes, I do" (hardly ever complete it on time) or "No, I don't" (ever complete it on time). The easiest thing to object with seems to be "That's not true." I'd really appreciate your help.

Two and two makes four, doesn't it? = I know the answer and I'm explaining it to you or I am confident in my answer and I am confirming with you. Two and two makes four, does it? = I see the answer but I didn't know it myself or I couldn't calculate it easily so I am checking with you.

Can anyone say what is the tag of the following sentence ,please Let me go to the store,......? Let me take it ,....?
@bbclearningenglish5 жыл бұрын
Hi robin k george. These are imperative sentences beginning with ‘let’, so you can say: Let me go to the store, will you/won't you? Let me take it, will you/won’t you? When making a suggestion, it is common to use ‘let’s’. ‘Let’s’ stands for ‘let us’, for example: ‘Let’s go to the cinema’.When we use ‘let’s’ in a question tag we always use ‘shall we’, regardless of whether ‘let’s’ is affirmative or negative. So for example:Let’s go to the cinema, shall we?Let’s not go to the cinema, shall we?You'll find more on question tags on our website: www.bbc.co.uk/learningenglish/english/course/towards-advanced/unit-28/tab/grammar
