The fact a band like this can even exist in 2022, let alone absolutely dominate gives me faith in hardcore bands of all types.

I agree, but these guys aren't exactly hardcore in the traditional sense. In my opinion they're more so a rock band with some hardcore sensibilities - anything that makes hardcore inaccessible to most people (harsh vocals, beatdowns etc) aren't in their songs. They're pop hardcore - and I don't say that in a negative way, it's cool that they're so popular and loved, and I do imagine they'll be a gateway band to heavier/more underground stuff for a lot of people which can only be a good thing.

@@antnybeard69 I’d agree with you as far as they’re not traditional but they’re most definitely a hardcore band to me. The first EPs and album are reminiscent of early 90s breakouts and even into some tracks on their second record. Glow On is a new direction in some ways but they’ve always been a band to push things, I love that.

I'm 51 and took my 17 yr old to see them in New Orleans. I've seen a lot of artists in my lifetime and I can honestly say Turnstile was the most enjoyable performance I've ever witnessed! Can't wait to see more from them!

So funny! I’m turning 31 next month and I’ve just discovered Turnstile this year back in April! They played on Lollapalooza Brazil and I really liked them! Since then I’m listening to their songs pretty much every single day! Their last album is so good and I already memorized all the lyrics of the songs lol! They’re so good!!! I definitely can say I’m a fan now.

Been listening to these guys for about 8 years and they never disappoint live. I didn’t go to glasto but I saw them the night before at outbreak fest. One of the best gigs I’ve been to all year. Even beat their first show I saw them in January!! Holy fuck.

my uncle got me a thrasher magazine subscription in the 90's and that was my first introduction to helmet. they had a small article on some different bands, helmet was one. good shit and i agree this does have some of the feel of them.

Turnstile is without a doubt the best new-ish rock band to come around in a long long time. 'Glow On' is the best rock album I've heard in years. I'm 39 and I had sort of given up hope of new bands coming around that elicit the same sort of excitement that 90's bands gave me or early 00's indie rock bands gave me...Turnstile changed all that. They are fucking legit. I'm seeing them live for the first time in a few months and I cannot fuckin wait.

They hit the sweet spot of authentic Hardcore rhythm and energy with a mix of positivity, style, and musical curiousity that is absolutely a breath of fresh air. So excited for this band to be doing so well. It's good for guitar rock, and it's good for music in general. When I played music like this, with bands like this - these guys were nowhere near being born, so It's HUGE for their generation to take the music and move it forward the way they do. (I'll be 54 in a couple of weeks) PS - for these UK audiences to get a full dose of New American Hardcore is also fucking RAD

Makes me proud to be from the east coast hardcore scene. Remember seeing Turnstile for the first time at a little bar called Shakas in virginia beach, then at an album release show in DC. I really encourage people to dive into their old stuff. Bless these dudes.
