As a Belfast man living abroad since 30 years, this is for me absolutely beautiful and not just the music.❤❤

During the third song, that's Morse Code for "CQD" being projected on the screen, which was the distress call from the Titanic. What a chilling song!
@blueorange6026 Жыл бұрын
The instruments are also spelling out the Morse Code in their rhythms, becoming more frantic as the track goes on. Absolute masterpiece!

A most fitting tribute to the people who build the great ship and the poor souls that were lost in the tragedy that followed.

Having seen PSB live in NYC a couple years ago (they were playing "The Race for Space") ... they're a total blast in concert and their motion graphics tie into the music so perfectly.

Track 2 is really good! I wonder if this will result in an EP since it is commissioned work, or if they'll release a full album about the Titanic?
@mikebellwood85316 жыл бұрын
Royal Albert Hall gig on Nov 1st - think we'll see an EP around then. Check out the Tom Robinson interview and history of the band on 6Music, fabulous.

I got the feeling that they took the commission as it was a logical thing for a band like PSB to do, but they didn't really want to do it.
@jmccann4826 жыл бұрын
Carl Purkins if they didn't want do it, why wouldn't they just refuse?

Got to pay the bills like everybody else…

Why do you think that? I think they were more realising how they were playing these songs where Titanic was built.

1. The unsinkable ship 2. White star liner 3. C.Q.D 4. The Deep
@mikebellwood85316 жыл бұрын
C.Q.D. - very clever, these guys set the bar incredibly high.
@blakefish806 жыл бұрын
Mike Bellwood... Yes, it's quite brilliantly thought out and performed. Even down to the drum beat ending abruptly on the "C.Q..." missing the final D as that was the final message received from the ship before she was lost completely... incredibly poignant stuff.

Performance of the weekend, WTF are the crowd about. BBC Zombies
@blueorange602611 ай бұрын
It's sombre because the crowd are standing in the exact place where the Titanic was built, and the emotions conveyed by the songs don't exactly evoke loud raucous cheering considering what happened to the ill-fated liner.
@Beatgeneration20103 жыл бұрын
Last song was not the best of choices!
@JoshLStuff2 жыл бұрын
It was part of a specifically created suite of songs for the Titanic (understandably somber about the aftermath of the crash), it was not their set's last song.
