Many older brick buildings got cracks and had to be retrofitted with supports to make them habitable. Honestly I don't understand why rich people live in such an area which suffers wildfires routinely. In 1995 at Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the most of richest people living areas were not affected. They had found relatively safer areas and had settled there down. Only the poor and the salary workers suffered the damage of the quake greatly. I thought it was capitalism. But things look to go differently in LA.
