Helsinki might not be the first place that comes to mind when considering the world’s tech innovation hotspots.
However, Finland’s relatively quiet capital is home to some of the most ambitious and successful games makers in the world.
The first Angry Bird was flicked across the screen of an iPad in Helsinki, and now Netflix has chosen to set up its first ever internal gaming studio in the city.
As a result, Helsinki is considered by many to be the capital of mobile gaming, an industry currently worth an estimated £120bn to the global economy. But how did this happen?

Supercell is not predatory about monetization. Fortnite or Genshin impact have developed such insane pressure tactics in games primarily targeted at children that it is scary. I see what you mean when you say "mobile games", but supercell isn't that, not right now anyway.

Supercell is a great example of a good model company. At least looking at coc, there's no real "need to pay to continue", ads are non existent which is huge, the game is free, they have made early game easier to allow catching up and a lot of work gets put into it.

Just been on holiday to Lapland, and you can see how developed the economy is compared to the UK. They have 5G even in the depths of the Laplandian forest, and great infrastructure. The UK economy has been starved by government underinvestment, and we’re now falling behind enormously

5G in the UK sucks. People always complain about service in Germany, but the UK seems to have much worse coverage. Although the Finnish 5G is likely just the "fake-ish" 700 MHz 5G which can be really slow. Though anything seems to be much cheaper in the UK than in Germany or Finland, even after the Brexit.

What was it? 2.8 Billion of the 110 Billion that industry makes worldwide? That's the biggest developers market share? Or roughly 2.5 percent of the income? But roughly 35 percent of new games in that industry are made in China, or it makes 38.5 Billion of the market. The US makes the next most of the market with 22 Billion of that market share. Japan made 12.1 Billion last year in that market making mobile games. Those are the top three countries that produce mobile games, so are they outsourcing to Finland to make it the developer Capital of mobile game industry? I think this piece might not be entirely accurate. That's a shame.

This is based on population of the country dumbass. China has a population of 1.4B (1400 million), Japan has a population of 125 million and what is the population of Finland? Under 6 million. Per capita Finland is far superior than any of those countries you mentioned and it's not even close.
