I was an Arizona State Parks ranger for 15 years and sadly, have seen my fair share of fires. Born in California, I've mountain biked since before they were called mountain bikes. Since I haven't owned a car for years & years & years and have to ride through ALL weather conditions day after day, I can finally say at age 65 and having been a member of most American political parties, WITH AUTHORITY: 1) US - It is not the politicians. IT'S US! @ the ones who doesn’t own multiple homes, either have money for temporary accommodation, they have emergency shelters in place, they were evacuated before the fire spread ( at least majority of them. My cousin lives close by and her family was evacuated to a safe zone and they also have the option to either travel to other states to stay with relatives or they can stay in a hotel because her workplace is untouched. But the point is, even the poor people affected would be offered aid, they won’t be left homeless as they will be receiving help to rebuild or they will be offered housing somewhere safe.

The main problem is IF the value of the land plummets due to these fires. $150,000 property, say on $2.3m of land is a beautiful situation to be in. As you already know, there is no need for any state to have a state income tax as every state without an income tax is debt free so in states like California which has a state income tax, every penny of that state income tax MUST go into a fund that will only be touched when that state has an emergency. Right now people are paying 4 grand yearly for home insurance and 2 grand every 6 months for car insurance and can't pay hire rates. Insurance companies can't pay to repair the damages done from these man made fires so the state must pay for all repairs from the fires. People who owned the damaged homes, the families of the 5 people killed by the fires, and the insurance companies must sue the L.A. mayor, City Hall, California governor, the California Government for intentionally putting them at risk.
