Pretty sure it said on the document at 1:47 that she had debated putting them up for adoption for a time, before she then decided to desert the children, so, not too much sympathy for her in that regard, she clearly didn't care for them too much, so she wouldn't care either way whether or not they found each other again. Sympathy for having to go through the turmoil of living in a Nazi labour camp certainly, but not for straight up abandoning her children,

Mark Marsh - It is so very sad htwins are separated. If their birth mother cannot rais them, they should be kept together and adopted by the same family. It is so cruel to separate them when they are so closely bound to each other and already they are being separated from their birth mother. Let them have each other. My friend's son got married and he and his wife tried to have children for 10 years and then applied for adoption when it became clear that they could not have their own children. They adopted a newborn boy from a girl who was too young to raise him. After two years they got a phone call from the adoption agency who told them that this girl had given birth again to another boy and she was hoping that he could be adopted by the same family as his brother so that they could be together. So my friend's son and his wife adopted the second child - they will always be together. They will not have to go through this pain of trying to find each other later in life.

Being told she cannot have her sons back nor be able to contact them in anyway possible is devastating enough. The story of the biological father will always remain a mystery unless they have clues to his name or whereabouts before he passed? I'm a single dad of twins I cannot imagine the heartache of waking up and finding out your babies were gone. At least adopted is better than disappeared I suppose, but I'm crying for that woman rn. I could not live with that always searching always wondering never knowing. Who is protecting them? Are they safe? I could not. I feel so sorry for her.

I felt bad for the other twin (not Lucien; forgot the name of the one who moved to USA) who said his relationship with his adopted mother deteriorated the moment he found out he was adopted and had a biological mother. I mean, that's not fair for that twin at to be treated that way. He deserved answers and to find his true identity. It made me wonder if the adopted mother knew about the biological mother trying to locate her boys and such? Just too selfish...

@@mistress9sama if the adoptive mom *did* know the bio mom was looking for her kid, and chose to keep her adopted son in the dark, then that's pure selfishness

It brought back one particular memory about the Red Cross. Every Saturday afternoon my mother would listen to a radio program where the Red Cross would read names of missing people and people who where searching for them and others. Even now, it makes me cry again, for most of my relatives were either killed or went missing during WWII. My mother, who died in 2012, never really got over it. I am so glad these brothers found each other.
