I have cousins who have met the same reaction upon their births(with the mother crying profusely not wanting to meet her new born daughter). The Girl child isn’t a liability if you don’t treat her as one. As a Man, It is harrowing and almost funny to see this obsession of People wanting an heir for their Kingdom of Poverty. We as a society need to understand that a Child is not a 401K or a retirement plan, and that an empowered girl child is equally as capable of taking care of the responsibilities of her parents. Sadly, these arguments will once again fall on deaf ears waiting diligently for the cries of a young boy, upon whom they can put the burden of their old age. Think of the women capable of doing this, it’s not like their hands are clean. This depiction of Karna’s anger at Mata Kunti in the Mahabharat comes to mind, "मैं ध्यान जन्म का धरता हूँ, उन्मन यह सोचा करता हूँ, कैसी होगी वह माँ कराल, निज तन से जो शिशु को निकाल धाराओं में धर आती है, अथवा जीवित दफनाती है? "सेवती मास दस तक जिसको, पालती उदर में रख जिसको, जीवन का अंश खिलाती है, अन्तर का रुधिर पिलाती है आती फिर उसको फ़ेंक कहीं, नागिन होगी वह नारि नहीं.”

This is my request to all the women watching this, please don't give up on fighting. Lets remind ourselves why the feminism movement started. Nowadays people hate using that word but lets remember why and how bad things had gotten for women to start a whole movement to fight for their basic human rights. Most of us living in towns and cities now think we don't need such activism anymore. Women go to work, dress however they want, have successful careers in 2024 so we don't need feminism anymore. That's not true. Every single house-help we have had since I was young, is a victim of domestic violence. Even in cities where women are considered to be "empowered", they face discrimination in one way or another. They are not safe walking on the roads, in hospitals, in schools, in colleges..even in their own homes. This superficial image of being in a progressive, women empowering society needs to be looked at with more criticism. We still have a long fight ahead. There are dowry cases even now. There are female infanticides even now. Sure, they've decreased but thats also because laws have gotten stricter. The mentality is still the same. The way indians raise their daughters and sons itself is a testament to the fact that the mindset is still the same. Daughters have to look a certain way, talk a certain way, dress a certain way, study well, treat everyone with respect but men don't have any schooling or lecturing done because "men will be men". Lets not delude ourselves. Its not just about you or me. A lot of underprivileged women still need strength and support.

We r discussing abortion specifically of female and also these ppl confessed they kill infant girls or abort when it's girl. Abortion during complications in pregnancy to save life or because we don't want to make a football team out of our own home is not illegal, having many kids affact female reproductive health and mother death rates. Guys have problem with abortion when they can't afford to help woman at all or just don't understand women's health and pre to post pregnancy harmone changes that can cause bad mental health too. Not caring for woman reproductive health for just sake of having a boy is a lot in India and not really shares same reason with west. Raising this matter is so stupid like discussing financial distribution in a session of crime rate discussion
@TheWolfnmanАй бұрын
@@MansiTyagi-vf3do Western countries allow abortion for reasons besides medical. They shouldn't be pointing fingers when their own next generation has no right to life. @aishwaryasudan1290Ай бұрын
I did my medical education in a government college in one of these areas. Female babies were routinely abandoned at the hospital. As the interns, we were the ones left holding the baby. The mother who was inside would sometimes ask for her child but many times that meant she was left to fend for herself and the baby immediately after giving birth. This is the ground reality of India. Many women were killed for saving their babies when they reached back home. Its so bad , that during general examination, when asked about how many children they had , they would count only the boys. Not only is this misleading in a medical sense, it was truly heartbreaking and made it difficult for many of us to have any empathy for these people.

People want Son so that he can take care of them in Old Age Protect the Family from outside threat - Animals, Religion, Caste, Family Disputes, etc Daughter can also take Care but it is difficult because in most cases she will marry & from other house it is difficult to take care of Old Age Parents & In Physical Power in most cases it is difficult to win from so many threats Some People dies with Good Health & Some dies with Bad Medical Condition for 5 - 15 Years of Last Time Thousands of years ago we don't have this type of Transport system by which we can go to here & there in hours Now we have that Transport System but it is difficult now also Bharatiya People & outside Forces ☪️, ✝️, 👁️, etc also damaged the Joint Family Structure If that was working other Aunt & Uncle Son can take care of that Daughter Parents who are alone in Old Age By this if there is only Daughter her Cousin Brother can take care of his Biological Parents But this needs Healthy Joint Family Structure

Chinese female infanticide rate is much higher than India, as a matter of fact in all poor countries around the world people prefer boys over girls. Its not because of education that they do this, they do this because practically a boy does contribute more to a family than a girl in a poor country. If you will put your thinking cap on, you will realize the rootcause pretty quickly but BBC or the western media woundnt want you to believe that the solution is so simple.

@@ShivangiTiwari-yq8exthink rationally what he's saying carries some substance. Don't get swayed by your selfish emotions. Come out of the blaming mentality women contribute almost 50% of the population and the percentage gets higher in senior citizens . Take responsibility change what's wrong don't just fight for short dresses and reserved seats

Such stories need to be shown to general public and male chauvinists at crossroads and in rural areas and in cities too for the EDUCATED FOOLS.

Es pure video me main bas roti hi rah gyi 🥺 Agar dahej hi vajah h to dahej lena aur dena dono band kar de par nahi ham esa rasta chunenge jha aurto ko hi dabana pade. Rape hota h to ladko ko rokne ki jagah ham apni betiyon ko kahenge bahar mat nikalo, ese mat chalo, ye mat pahno. Kaisa samaj h hmara. Jab tak ham ladkiyon ko shikshit nhi karenge ye samaj ke thekedar ese hi solution nikalte rhenge. Thank you for this heartbreaking documentary. I am a 27 years old woman and I am going to become a teacher. After watching this video I became more sure why I wanted to be a teacher. 🙏

Yeh the reason all of this happened lack of gender sensitivity. We boys actually don’t know what challenges girls faces and never been taught to how to converse with them. all life we were trained to be toxic masculinity of patriarchy. Right now I am in phase were I get self awareness about that I don’t think that girls faces issues and their life has been simple can easily date or have romantic relationships but after analysing myself I get that I have very flawed thoughts. So to change my thoughts I want to talk to girls about the problems they faces but when I tried to that I find that even girls don’t want to educate us about their problems and think of us as creeps. I have dream to be a teacher i don’t think i want to be a teacher who is unaware of other gender problems. I don’t know how i will teach myself this probably be a book but I will be happy if I really get face to face talks with the other gender themselves.

Very shameful but I got to know recently that my aunt and my grandmother weren't really happy when I was born and that to give birth to my brother 2 or 3 girls were aborted. I'm loved but whenever I look at my brother now, I think of my sisters and how I could've been one of them.
