Since this interview was right after he had watched the play, he probably hasn't taken the time to think back on it and realize that so much of it didn't make sense. As a similar Potterhead back when I read the book (Cursed Child) the week it came out, I read through the entire thing in a day and a half and I really enjoyed it because it was the first new HP content I had been given in years. At the time I didn't think anything negative about it, but now whenever I look back on the story I realize how bad so much of it is. I assume Tom still is at the stage where he loved it, but maybe in a little bit of time he'll realize the issues. Odds are he won't say anything publicly, but that's understandable.

@@RottenBen See I read it in one sitting the day it came out and knew immediately that this was not it. I'm a massive Potter fan, and was in London this past year studying abroad and I refused every opportunity to go see Cursed Child even though I've heard great things about the stage play and spent a whole day at the Harry Potter Studios Tour Museum. I think it comes down to the fact that I have had a 15 year grudge against the epilogue and many of the "romantic pairings" that Rowling kinda threw together so that definitely didn't help the Cursed Child ease into my head canon.

I have been avoiding to see the play too, mainly cause I can't treat it as canon. It's more like a fanfiction to me, a great way to bring all the fans together back into the Wizarding world. I am sure the production and costumes and just the full environment feels magical throughout the play. However, wth is the plot... And lots of people are out of character OR there is complete erasure of character development for some. It just frustrates me as a fan of the books and the films. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Besides, the whole time travel thing was done first by A Very Potter Sequel musical, which btw I enjoy much more 😆 Perhaps one day I'll go see it if I treat it as an independent project lol

I did that... hated the story but went anyway because I was in NYC and no chance of seen it where I live. It's a full on comedy... so when you treat it like fanfiction, and you accept that, OMG is awesome. Like, truly an amazing experience. Please if you're able to do it, go. All the magic on stage is beautiful, you won't regret it.

My two sisters and I saw the US Broadway production when it was two parts. It was incredible, and I feel sorry for anyone who has to see the condensed version. I wouldn't go see it again unless it goes back to its original two-part play. I don't want to spoil anything so I'm just going to say that it needs to go back to the full plot line.

On a related note, we need to worry about more is people refusing to go and see #FantasticBeastsTheSecretsOfDumbledore all because of her comments; I’d highly encourage and recommend everyone [please Encourage as many other people as you can as well please :-) See it as many times as they can in theaters, and even If possible,buy a ticket for it In place of going to see another movie so that way it still gets money without you actually having to see it multiple times. Buying as many merchandise directly related to it as possible will also truly help. Also remember that if you’re refusing to see it because of #JohnnyDeppIsMyGrindelwald Then please remember that this movie needs to do well so as to give Johnny the chance to actually come back in the Later movies, For the actor who played MacNair The executioner was re-casted for prisoner of Azkaban and then came back for order of the Phoenix. The bottom line is that if #FantasticBeastsTheSecretsOfDumbledore Doesn’t do well, And they don’t make the remaining two movies,then Johnny definitely will never be back as Grindelwald!Plus you also have to remember that it’s about to be a new company with new people over seeing it, So as such you were technically not paying that company and are actually giving more of a chance than not having him actually return. Especially depending on what may happen with the results of his trial that’s going to be happening shortly after the movie comes out, the new people taking over Warner Bros. right before it comes out…… Also remember in regards to her that she doesn’t necessarily get a whole lot of money from this, as well the fact remains that as many people have pointed out that she already has so much money that not supporting the series will not really change any kind of “power“ that you may have against her, and after all the series should not suffer at all because of her for Regardless of what you may think, nothing I repeat nothing will ever ever truly take away what a series overall truly means to you let alone other people, And again it’s not The series that’s the problem at all in any kind of way :-) Also keep in mind that even though it’s not the best example they have at least one transgender person or someone who identifies themselves as “They” in the cast so much for her transphobia……
